I had the same problem with my 06 GTP... I could smell coolant, but I could not see it. In my case, it was not the head gasket of any other expensive repair, but rather this. I had a reason to replace a thermostat on this car due to subsequent stupidity (I left the pressure cap off after refilling the coolant for the umpteenth time) and then drove... This cause my coolant to boil over and then ruined my thermostat (that was the only damage), so I changed it. Strangely enough, I have had no further coolant leaks after that.

Expansion tank and coolant reservoir in 2007 pontiac torrent.could one of them have a small hole in it , i lose fluid on driver side fender well

Hi,
A coolant leak is unlikely, but it is possible that the expansion tank cap is allowing coolant to seep-out.
There would be 2 reasons for this;
1. The seal in the cap is failing & allowing water to escape at too low a temperature.
2. You have an engine overheating problem & the coolant is forcing it's way past the cap seal, in the way it is designed to in the event of overheating.

Check your coolant temperature.
If it's running really hot, find out why.
If it's running at normal temperature, change the expansion-tank cap.
Best of luck.

2007 grand prix losing coolant, no leaks any where. Code says misfire on cyl 6. Its not running hot. A gurgling sound in the dash is present, and 1 month age the heater and air stop working but then...

might be cylinder head gasket leaking to combustion chamber, small leak that it can sip into combustion chamber and burn but the coolant will not burn completely so will stick to spark plug and cause miss fire.

I'm losing coolant, no visible leaks. I do have a squelling sound near the power steering pump?

Check the quality of your oil. Coolant maybe leaking internally due to worn out head gasket.

If heater core is leaking coolant will this cause engine to over heat?

Yes it can, the coolant leaks from the heater core, and causes the engine to lose coolant. The sad part is, if your heater core in underneath your dashboard, you will have coolant in the floorboard.

Smell antifreeze inside when car is running

check for leaks outside the car around the radiator and hoses if nothing is found there you'll probably need a heater core

no just lower the level or be quick about plugging in the new sensor, that is what I do, u may lose a cup of coolant but much less hassle than draining the radiator.
