1994 cutlass supreme--security light on--car won't start

This has happened 3x before..if you undo battery--security system resets and car will not start---bought a new key--last time found a code online that worked--yes have lost code--its the horn--brake--and radio code--just replaced a battery and lo and behold cannot start car and security light is on---please help and thanks for your help

I have the same problem. Disconncted battery to clean leads, now car won't start and security light is on. May be the starter as well so I am being told. 1994 cutlass supreme.

Security light has been on since replacing the ignition switch which caused the vehicle to turn off while driving it. After an oil change, the technician attempted to reset the oil change indicator and the security system disabled the vehicle.

New battery, new alternator, new starter. Turn key and nothing happens. No clicking

Have a 1996 oldsmobile cutlass supreme , the security light has been on, and now it will not let me start. Is there a reset button that I can hit to fix the problem

No reset button .You have to replace the ignition switch and lock cylinder the security system does't reconize your key and is shutting down the fuel injectors.

1994 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme electrical problem with the ignition key or cylnder column for ignition. Not sure what is causing this issue? Could it be that the key is bad and needs to be reset...

I am having the same problem with my 1994 Olds Cutlass. The connection between the ignition and the starter is malfunctioning, and the car will not start. One moment is was fine, the next it won't start. Were you able to resolve the problem on your Cutlass?

Want to know how to by-pass the security system on my 94 cutlass supreme 3.4 dohc motor

Cut the wire that runs to the battery and one that goes to the egnition. You may need bolt cutters. Good Luck.

1994 oldsmobile cutlass supreme wont start. Security light in the dash flashes which causes me to think its the immobiliser. I dont know how to bypass it or turn it off. It just happened after starting...

1994 cutlass supreme security light stays on and does not start

their is two wires they are white and go in to a orange sleve that sould be on the ignition switch, that is part of the security system in the car. It runs down inside the colunm and plugs in uder the dash. This is most likley your problem, the wires might have a short.

I have a 96 Olds Cutlass Supreme that intermittently won't start

If the lights on the dash all come on but the engine wont turn over it could be a problem with the VAT security system. Your key has a little chip on it between the teeth and the handle. This is a common problem with GMs', often just replacing the key is necessary but sometimes the VAT module needs to be replaced.

Sounds like a RFID issue. Your key most likely has a chip inside of it. Most of the time people will have multiple keys on their key chain that can cause interference with the receiver in your steering column. Try using the one ignition key to start.

could be neautral safety switch ours does this and we have to pull it out of park and put it back into park or hold the shifter lever up while turning the key the sec light should go out if it starts. ours does.

Trying to start a 1994 Olds Cutlass Supreme and wont turn over.

Does it crank at all or is there nothing when you turn the key? If the resistor chips in the key(s) are bad, they shut down the fuel system for 3 minutes and it won't crank. I've had this happen and the problem was solved when I got new keys.
