You can try to replace the fuel pump relay, under the hood on the drivers side in fuse block
Bad connection at the starter motor (even though it turns over) clean the connections and it will start no problem... been there... solved it.
If the savana crancks but won't start see if you are getting spark at the ignition coils or spark plugs, also there should be a valve to test for fuel pressure make sure you are getting fuel to the engine because some gm trucks had problem with the fuel pump conector melting, if you have the old fuel pump see if any of the conectors if black or melted if they are try to wigle the conector at fuel pump to try to start it, sorry for the delay but i'm a mobile mechanic and sometimes very very bussy
ok now get some little lights to test the injector conectors i just can't remeber the name oh! i got it ! knoid lights they are specially to test for injector pulse, you atach this light to the injector conector and see if you have injector pulse, the light has to blink while you crank it, and that means you have injector power going to injectors, but i have a feeling than yuo have not pulse goping to injectors that's what that power is caLLED because is a pulsed power than goes on an off, if you have the knoid lights but they don't fit on the conector you can also use an led light emisor doide like those little lights on the speakers or radios you can buy one at radio shack, and plug it to the injector conector with the injector disconected, if there is not pulse check the pink cable goig to injectors it has to have ignition power with the ignition swtch on it has to have power if not you need to check very wheel for fuses and specially the fuel injector rellay, other wear thing that happend to me a while ago was after replacing fuel pump i had air in the fuel lines so the fuel pump was p[ushing only air i had to hold the fuel valve at the fuel rair drepresed while some one crank the car until i get fuel and the car start, but i feel the air coming out and then fuel pressure
pay very good attention to the fuel injector relay because on gm's this relay feed the fuel pump also.
i hope and this helps
