We bought a brand new battery one month ago. A few days ago, the car wouldn't start. We jumped it and it started. Today it won't start. When the key is turned, the car makes no noise. No clicking, no lights, nothing.

Check and clean the terminals then boost the car to start it after it starts. Well it's running take off the positive terminal if the car stops running the alternator is no good and you have to replace it.

SOURCE: The last couple of days

First think is to check the fuses. Next check that the main relay is supplying voltage on the output pin. If there is no voltage output then it could be a dry solder joint on the main relay. Unplug it and remove its cover lid carefully. Visually check the circuit board and look for a hairline annular crack around a dry looking soldered pin. Use some flux cored solder and a soldering iron to resolder this joint. Replace the relay lid and plug it back in and it should be OK.

SOURCE: factory alarm started acting up a few days ago,

Could be the battery is dead or dieing. When batteries start to go they will cause the security to act up. Plus other things

SOURCE: factory alarm started acting up

The first thing i would do is to have the battery tested, most problems occur due to a weak battery so i would start by having the battery tested first you may have a low weak battery thats why you were able to jump start it . good day.

Anti-theft system has nothing to do with it . Battery cables , maybe , Park neutral safety switch possibly ! With anti-theft system problem you wouldn't a click or anything , that is if the anti-theft disables fuel or the starter . Plus the SECURITY light would be on if it were a anti-theft system problem . Your best bet , take it to a qualified repair shop that knows how to do starter circuit testing >
Starter Voltage Drop
How to voltage drop test starter motor circuit

And what's this identity anti theft system ? No such thing ! The vehicle has a content theft an vehicle theft deterrent system !
This system disables fuel not cranking of the engine. The VCM/PCM will not disable the fuel due to any BCM message for the remainder of the ignition cycle.
If the VCM/PCM does not receive the same password from the BCM as the last learned one, the vehicle will start and then stalls due to the Fuel Lockout.

It's the alternator...it is not keeping your battery charged. You can remove it and take it to a local parts store and they will test it for free.

Hello i have a 2004 expedition , and i have been having issues with my battery draining. about a month and a half ago i went away vacation , came home to start my truck only to relize my battery was dead....

Your solution is a little hard to find too bad they told you to change the alternator. It is a simple fuse you need to change that is blown. on the expetion sometimes there are two one in the fuse box and one under a black cover follow the alternator small wires it should point to the direction of the small i believe 7.5 amp fuse. it was hard to find and i do this for a living. good searching.
