Honda Odyssey when driving rpm goes up but the car does not move any faster. if you turn off the engine and turn it back on it drives fine for a while and then the rpm goes up again and the car seems to feel like it's not shifting gears. this is an automatic and the trans fluid is good as is the oil. no engine lights are one.

Sounds like your transmission is on the way out. Google "transmission problem 2004 Odyssey" and you will know the deal on your transmission. Lots of early 2000 model honda V6 transmissions had lots of problems.

My 2006 honda Odyssey will stall out or just shut completely down or off while in full motion driving.

All engines move back and forth. Sometimes too much:)

Check your motor and trans mounts to see if they are allowing the engine to move too much. You need 2 people to do this: One person on the side of the vehicle with the hood open and another in the vehicle, E Brake applied!!!, carefully shifting from Drive to Reverse. Watch the motor & mounts for movement. If you see much movement, you probably have a weak wiring connection that disconnects when the engine is in a certain position. A short or grounded wire could also be the problem so make sure no wires are bare in certain spots from rubbing as the engine moves.

Check the wiring harness by moving the wires by hand while idling your car. In PARK with the E-brake applied!!! Move the wiring and hoses around, shake them and see if you can replicate the problem in your driveway.

Good luck.

91 honda accord between 50 and 55 it feels like the transmission shifts up and down conststantly but the rpm only moves from 2100 rpm to 2000 rpm but over or under that speed it runs fine.

Your transmission is probably jumping in and out of "torque converter lockup". The lockup is the most efficient mode because 100% of the power from the engine goes to the wheels and is not lost in the torque converter. It only goes into lockup at higher speeds, but will jump out if the computer senses it needs more power (at the higher engine RPMs) to maintain or increase your speed. I recommend either going faster or slower if this is bothering you. :-)

The engine rpm's increase and decrease when in

Does your van have the V-Tec engine? If it does, you will have to take it to a dealer to get it fixed. What is happening is one or more of the solenoids under the valve cover is malfunctioning. The result is the surge in rpm's and the rough transition. You could try an indy mechanic but any mech worth his salt will tell you to take it to the dealer.

Maybe the solution
There is a recall on the ignition switch,
My 99 Ody with 120K would suddenly switch off and come back while runing, Take it to dealer and report to Honda, Since out of warranty. The dealer would do the repairs estimated at $100 charge to you.
