2009 elantra SE, whistling sound this morning after a rainy night when i turned the key to start, it had delay for few sec and long whistling noise then started!

What you heard was probaly the drive belt, if it stopped after a few seconds, take a glss of water and pour on belt while running and see if it does it while pouring the water, this also works to tell if you have a bad belt or idler pulleys, if the squealing goes away its a belt if it keeps squealing its the idler. If its an actual whistle, before it starts, who knows......

Whistling sound from engine after changing front battery

The whistling is possibly the alternator belt loading to charge the battery, listen to the noise and turn on the rear heated screen and headlight, if the pitch of the whistle changes then it's the alternator belt. Hope that helps.

1998 ford expedition. Does the altenator whistle when it goes out?

Spray same water on the belt to see if whistle goes out that means loose belt. 2nd remove belt and check shaft for any gaps in and out and up and down start for a minute to see if the squeaky noise cam from there.if is noise stop is your alternator bearings to Replace then fit the belt and adjust .

What would cause whistling noise near pully and belt area noise gets louder with acceleration

The engine serpentine belt may be worn or wet. The belt slips, causing a high pitched squealing or whistle noise. The other possiblility is a bearing beginning to go out on one of your belt driven components

Whistling noise coming from engine compartment on 2004 toyota sequoia

Troublkeshoot possible noisy idler pulleys, if they are OK, remove the plastic cobers & check for a noisy timing belt tensioner pulley. Water pumps rarely "whistle"; they grind. But, if you see any evidence of leakage at the weep hole on the water pump impeller shaft, replace the pump regardless. Might as well replace the timing belt whilst you are there, too.
