You should have a drain plug at the bottom of your radiator. It will be a twist out plug, which will only unscrew so far to drain but if you pull on it, it will come out to drain faster. It will be some type of plug rather it be a twist type or takes an allen wrench or a basic wrench.

How do i drain old antifreeze and put in new antifreeze in my 2002 ford sport trac

For most cars, set your heater temp control to hot, Make sure engine is cold. Open drain on bottom of rad, let it drain down, depending on model the overflow bottle should drain before the rad does, once its drained remove the rad cap and drain to completion. Make sure any spills are wiped up and no open containers of antifreeze are left sitting around. Cats and dogs love to drink it, but it will kill them if they do!

Trying to locate drain plug for antifreeze. Just had work done on my 1998 ford club wagon and need to drain water and add antifreeze.

As far as I know there are no drains in the cooling systems any more. I took the bottom rad hose off and drained my Buick. They say you should not put water in car rads any more.

Howtodrainatifreeze

You can drain the antifreeze at the radiator drain plug, which is located on the lower front of the radiator on the drivers side. If your model doesn't have the drain plug, then remove the lower radiator hose and drain. Make sure you have something in place to catch the antifreeze and always drain antifreeze after the car has had time to cool off.

How change antifreeze in car raditor?

At the bottom of the radiator there is a plastic knob this is the petcock drain plug it can be hard to see and turn so you may need to jack up the front of the car a little to crawl under the front and look at the bottom of the radiator but if you can reach it from the top and turn it with a pair of pliers do so that way this will allow you to drain the radiator, remove the radiator cap if it has one to allow air to pass through radiator, if it has no radiator cap remove the cap on the radiator expansion reserve tank, after all antifreeze is drained turn petcock drain plug back in till tight then refill raidiator with 50% water 50% anti freeze mixture, start car and top off antifreeze run the car or drive for ten minutes then top off antifreeze.

Locate engine block antifreeze drain plug

There is a 3/8" square head plug above the starter. This drains the left bank of the block and can be replaced with a 1/4" pipe valve.
