Changing front, right turn signal on 2005 Buick Terraza: Open hood; when facing the front of vehicle, the right turn signal is on the passenger side (left). The headlight assembly needs to be removed to easily reach the turn signal. On my vehicle, there is a 10 mm screw on the left side. Remove it. There is L-shaped pin on the right side of the headlight assembly. Swing the pin counter-clockwise (to the left). Pull the pin straight up to remove. The headlight assembly is now loose, but there is a pin snapped in a socket on the back of the assembly that still holds the assembly. Pull the headlight assembly hard and straight to the front of the vehicle. When it snaps loose, the assembly is now held just by the rubber gasket surrounding the assembly. You need to gently work the right side of the gasket out of the grill cowling. The assembly should pull straight out. The wires are long enough to lay the headlight assembly in the engine compartment. Finally, the turn signal is now accessible. Twist the light holder counter-clockwise and pull out the light holder. Change the bulb. Do not punch your man-card for credit until you have successfully reinstalled the headlight assembly. It goes back in a little easier the second time. Once you have put the L-pin in place, the screw back, and successfully tested the lights, you can now punch your man-card.

I give the mechanical engineers and designers a D-minus instead of an F only because I was successful on the first try. No light bulb on anything commonly used by people should be this hard to figure out.

Thanks to your expertise I was able to sucessfully change my right turn signal without help from a man. (other than you) the only thing not discussed was how to remove the fried brokenbulb from the signal holdr but was able to manage that. I was so glad I looked this up on the internet, because I was told to come in from the bottom by removing the firewall protector. I felt there had to be a better way, and you showed me that. Thankyou so much. I do agree this design is a nitemare. This vehicle design is not user friendly for the armchair machanic.

You don't need to totally remove the headlight to access the turn signal lamp. For the right turn signal. There is a 10 mm screw on the left side. Remove it. There is L-shaped pin on the right side of the headlight assembly. Swing the pin counter-clockwise (to the left). Pull the pin straight up to remove. The headlight assembly is now loose, but there is a pin snapped in a socket on the back of the assembly that still holds the assembly. You don't need to pull the headlight out of the pin snapped in the socket. Simply work the headlight assembly loose by working the gasket on the right side to the outside of the bumper. You can then swing the headlight assembly out enough to gain access to the turn signal below the headlight assembly. Twist the light holder counter-clockwise and pull out the light holder. Change the bulb. Replace the light holder by turning clockwise into the turn signal holder. Replace the headlight assembly and replace the L-shaped pin and 10 mm screw. Check your work and your done.

STOP/ TRN fuse #12 20amp, location - in the instrument panel fuse box. Is this the one? Fuse blows because you have a short circuit on the wiring that fuse protects. Do you know what that is?

Turn Signal Lamps
The STOP/TURN fuse in the instrument panel (I/P) fuse block supplies battery positive voltage to the body control module (BCM) for the turn signal lamps. When the turn switch is placed in the left or right position, ground is applied to the BCM on the left or right turn signal switch signal circuit. The BCM then applies voltage to the appropriate front and rear supply voltage circuits.

Grounds for the various lamps are as follows:

• G100 supplies the right front lamps

• G101 supplies the left front lamps

• G400 supplies the right rear lamps

• G401 supplies the left rear lamps

How to reove headlight housing so I can replace turn signal bulb

The turn signal bulb is in the inside of the housing. You change the turn signal bulb from under the hood. It is up on the back of the housing. It twists a little counter-clockwise. Then it pulls out to change. Then just put it back and turn it clockwise.
