They are known for bad switches in the door latches , It can be a pain to locate witch one. Close all doors and wait for the lamps to go out..( takes a couple minutes but they will go out on timer ) starting with the right rear open each door untill you find the one that doesn't turn the lamps on when you open it .. that's the bad switch. They are cheap at the dealer put a serious pain to change if you haven't done it before.

1999 mercury villager interior light won't go off.

If the door adjar light is on than you have a bad door switch. They are part of the door latch assembly. It is more common for the drivers side to go bad but it could be anny of them. A scan tool would be helpful in narrowing down which one it is. What you can try is spraying carb or brake cleaner into the part of the door that holds the door shut (the latch). Spray it into every nook and crany in that area. Open and close the door several times will a serving the door adjar light. If it goes out problem solved. If it doesn't go out get it scanned to see which one has failed and then pull that door pannel to inspect. Let me know if you have any questions and I'll do my best to answer them. The door adjar lights stay on, and the dome lights stay on when the doors are all shut.

One of the switches that gets pressed in by the closed door is bad.

Door adjar warning light stays on. Dome and cargo light stays on.

You need to remove the door ajar sensors from the doors and clean and lube them. You must remove the interior door panel then remove the door latch. Then twist the switch out of the latch to work on it.

How do I remove the door panel on a Ford F250 Supercab. I'm trying to find the switch for the ''doors adjar' light which won't go off and subsequently keeps my dome and outside bed light on and draws down...

the door adjar switch is the problem. the cargo light stays on until 35mph, as well as the overhead dome light. i just took the bulb out of the dome light and dont worry about the cargo light. it stays on for 30 min after the truck is turned off if the switch didnt trip properly. it shouldnt cause any problems as long as your batteries are good. i havent replaced the switch yet but it should be on the part of the door by the latch. get the replacement part and do a visual I.D. when you get the panel off. then replace it. the sensor is only 14$

04 EXPLORER DOME LIGHT STAYS ON, DOOR ADJAR LIGHT ON, DOOR JAMB SWITCHES WORKING PROPERLY.

At least one of your door ajar switches are sticking. Try spraying rust penetrant into the latches and open and close the doors several times. If they still stay on you will have to locate which latch it is by removing the door panels and disconnecting the switches.

Interior lights, lights on rearview mirrow aren't shutting off.

Spray some WD40 into the latches on the side of the doors then open and close the doors several times firmly. This will unstick the door adjar switch most of the time.Start with drivers door first.

Open door lite stays on --we cannot lock the car with the remote alarm botton? 2000 ford taurus

You may have a bad door switch. The alarm is usually wired into the door adjar switch amongst other things. If the alarm system is being told that your door is still adjar due to a bad switch in the door jam then it's quite possible that the alarm system will not operate the locks if it thinks the door is adjar in which is also evident by the dome light staying on. Sounds like a switch. If not the switch then I would lean more towards the alarm system being responsible.

Good Luck. I hope this has at least narrowed down your search if not pinpointed it.

The light stays on. 2001 fordf 250 the door adjar light stays on.

Try shooting some WD40 in the door latch assembly on the side of the door then open and close the doors several times. Most of the time this will un-stick the door ajar switch.
