Door Panel Removal 1995 Nissan Pathfinder with

The 2008 Nissan Pathfinder is a popular SUV that was released in the fall of 2007. The Pathfinder has many features, including a V6 engine, automatic transmission, and 4-wheel drive. One common issue that arises with this vehicle is the removal of the right hand kick panel trim. In this article, we will show you how to remove the trim so that you can access the electrical components located behind it.

Remove the screw behind the door opener, the screws in the door closer. Pulled the panel out then push up. The speaker is now accessable - should be held in by 4 phillips screws

Too much trouble to get the key that way. Use a very small drill bit in a Dremel style rotary tool to drill a hole on the end of the key. Use a paper clip to remove the broken key out of the cylinder.

Gently pry the door panel away from the door

Starter - REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable at the battery, then disconnect the positive battery cable at the starter.

1. On 4wd models with the 6-cylinder engine:
   1. Remove the front gravel shield.
   2. Detach the oil pressure switch connector.
   3. Drain the engine oil and remove the oil filter.

CAUTION The EPA warns that prolonged contact with used engine oil may cause a number of skin disorders, including cancer! You should make every effort to minimize your exposure to used engine oil. Protective gloves should be worn when changing the oil. Wash your hands and any other exposed skin areas as soon as possible after exposure to used engine oil. Soap and water, or waterless hand cleaner should be used.

1. On 2wd models with the 6-cylinder engine:
   1. Remove the front right wheel.
   2. Remove the front gravel shield.
   3. Remove the exhaust manifold heat insulator.
   4. Remove the exhaust manifold.
   5. Detach the oil pressure switch connector.
   
   
2. Unfasten the remaining electrical connections at the starter solenoid.
3. Remove the two nuts holding the starter to the bell housing, then pull the starter toward the front of the vehicle and out.

If you can get a trim removel tool it helps to keep from breaking the clips. Next, it is just a matter of taking out all the phillips screws. There is one in the handle area, under the little center cover. There is one at the front of the door panel and another under the electrical switch. Once all the screws are out the clips still hold the panel on and that is where the trim removal tool helps. It looks like a flat tool with a recess to get around both sided of the clip. You just slide it in and pry out and that way the clip or door panel does not get broke.

I like to have a helper so when the panel comes all the way off you have someone to hold it whild you remove the connectors to the wiring. Also, when you get all the clips off you will need to lift up to get the panel off the window ledge.

Two screws under the handle mine is snapped off.
Remove the door panel, disconnect the linkage to the handle and remove 2 screws that hold the Handle on.

It is possible that it could be a fuse. Fuses are usually located under dash driver side, or under the hood. HOWEVER, if the fuse is not blown, and all windows and locks don't work you should look into replacing the master switch in your drivers door. The switch in the drivers door controls the other locks and windows so when this switch becomes defective it will affect the other switches as well.

Very easy to do...I have a 1990 and they are interchangeable....88-94: Door Panel

1. Fully lower the door glass.
   
2. Remove the arm rest, door lock knob and inside door handle escutcheon.
   
3. For vehicles with manual windows, remove the regulator handle which is retained by a spring clip.
   
4. Gently pry the door panel away from the door.

Remove the lock button first before removing the door panel


Remove the plug to gain access to door panel retaining screws


Remove the trim cover


Remove the door handle trim


Remove the power window switch trim panel


After loosening the power window switch trim panel, disengage the electrical connection


Remove all the necessary trim panels before removing the door panel clips


View of the door panel retaining clip-clip must be installed in the hole straight


Make sure the watershield plastic is in place before installing the door panel

Installation is the reverse of removal.

Starter removal:

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable from the battery. On models equipped with a V6 engine, raise the vehicle and support it on jackstands.

2. Remove the wires from the starter solenoid. Label the wires and terminals to prevent confusion during installation.

3. Remove the starter motor mounting bolts.

4. Lift out the starter motor and solenoid.
5. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.

Find the screws in the inside door handle, remove the handle and disconnect the relay rod(s).
Remove the screws under the armrest.
Starting at the lower outer (rear) corner, carefully pry the panell off popping each "clip" out of its socket while leaving each clip attached to the panell.
Then lift the panell up to release the upper most edge where it wraps over the top of the door body and presses the weathestrip against the glass.
Carefully disconnect any wiring atached to the panell.
