What I had to do when I did mine was to lightly press on the speedometer while driving a short distance till the cable lined up. You should feel the speedometer fall into place and it should start working. Make sure to do this where there's no chance of hitting anything.

No injector pulse

hello sir,

absence of ground pulse means there is some kind of shorting circuit in your control circuit.

which can make the ground pulse to get shorted there itself preventing it to reach the circuit properly.

thank you

Tail lights and blinkers out on a 96 nissan hardbody pick up truck. Also when I turn the wheel to the right my horn honks by itself? Also my speedometer went out as well. I changed my fuses and they all...

  1. First check the alternator maybe you need to replace it.
  2. The horn honks when you turn the steering wheel because the wire inside the steering wheel is not fix.
  3. Visit a good mechanic and good electrician to check the alternator and the wirings.

How do I remove the speedometer cable from the speedometer head? It is a 1987 chevy pickup

There is a clip on the back of the instrument cluster right in the middle...you push against it and the speedo cable slips right off. You may need to pull the instrument cluster to reach it....it is pretty easy to do. If you need more help just let me know.

Changing a speedometer cable

This is not specific to a Chevy, but the speedometer cable generally is held in place with either a threaded nut or a retaining clip. Pulling on it will just cause damage. Disconnect it from the speedometer and feed the cable through the grommet in the firewall.
