Car won't start we think it might be the starter

if it wont turn over 1st check the ground s on the car and the battery 1st. your battery can be fully charged and the car will not start even over night this can happen. then look at the starter. Note: if you have over 109K on the car and the timing belt has never been replaced you will need to have this checked as well.

With a voltage meter see how many volts are at the starter terminal. If not 12+ volts you have a bad connection. Check connection at the starter solenoid. Does it have 12+volts? Short the solenoid. Does it put voltage to the starter?

have the fault codes read to determine the fault

I think not just the starter, many factors can cause your truck won't start.

If your battery is low it will work everything but will not operate starter motor

It's called the clutch start switch. Yes, it could be bad or needs adjustment.

Push the clutch in and the switch closes contact, so power flows from the ignition switch start position to the clutch switch and on to the starter motor-well, actually to the starter solenoid on the starter motor. If you have a voltmeter or test light, you can test the clutch switch . A red and white wire to it and a red wire from the switch to the starter solenoid. When this wire gets to the solenoid, it is a black wire with red stripe. It should have voltage when key is held in start position and the clutch pedal is depressed.

Try tapping on the side of the starter with a pry bar and a hammer. Do not hit too hard though. Hitting too hard will damage the starter. If the engine starts try cleaning the electrical contacts on the starter. If the problem persists replace the starter.

You could be right, a quick test to see if it the switch or starter would be to have someone hold the key in the crank postion with clutch pedal down and see if the small wire at starter has power, if it has power then its not the clutch switch but rather the starter itself. or you can unplug the safty switch and jump the connector and see if it starts, if it does then its the switch if not then it could be the starter, check starter for power as i listed above and if theres power replace the starter. hope this is helpful. good day.

Now you have a good battery & a starter that turns over the motor

Have you cycled the key on & off with a fuel pressure gauge on the
fuel rail?

Do you have a fuel filter that isn't over 3 or 4 years old?

Have you checked for spark while cranking ? Use an old plug on the wires,
if you have ignition wires,don't ground the wire without resistance

If you removed the ducting & MAF Sensor it won't start
