Wipers on my 1985 Dodge Ram Charger don'm move. they are at a up position. I could hear the wiper motor on.

Can you hear the wiper motor ? If not the relay sounds like it went bad

If the wipers are not working but you can hear the motor, there is one of two problems. The wiper pivots are seized or the wiper linkage is disconnected.Can you move the wipers by hand with the wipers in the off position? If so, the linkage is disconnected. Can you move the wipers by hand with the wipers in the on position by using force? If so, suspect seized wiper pivots

Can you move the wipers by pulling on them? If you can and they easily move, the wiper linkage is disconnected. If you can hear the motor run and the wipers are inoperable, suspect a seized wiper pivot

try replacing fuse first but problem could be in the wiper switch or arm . like its not getting ground to shut off if you can see wiper motor under the hood on dashboard you might try putting switch in off position then unplug motor you might have to do this to stop them an position them in down spot changing that switch can cost because it all in the steering wheel good luck

if the motor is moving but the wipers are not, check the linkage in between. remove the cowl if you need to. you may have just become unhooked.

there is a body control module behind the fuse box under the dash. it runs the wioers ,widows ,and locks,and much more

The windshield wipers don't work at all or you can hear the motor running but the wiper arms do not move?

Did it blow your wiper fuse?

if the wiper motor isnt coming on, check the switch with a test light or voltage tester, unplug the motor turn switch on test the wires that go to the motor, if the are not hot, its your switch, if they are hot, its your motor.

Will or can you move the wipers by hand? Does the wiper motor hum when it is turned on and had power to it,or have you tried attaching a wire directly to the motor from the positive side of the battery? If the wiper arm and linkage is free and the motor can be turned by hand while attached,if voltage is going to and from it, it will work or it(the motor) is defective.
