Toyota Landcruiser 1994. 4.2 TD 12 valve !HD-T Will not start on key, Have checked all the fuses I can find, I'm missing something, No power from ignition sw to starter motor, Relay on LHS foot well clicking and operating 24v change over relay, simply no power to starter, I assume the power to the starter must also be 24v to excite the solenoid but seem unable to find a spur off the 24v system, Any help would be greatly appreciated

SOURCE: 1994 Toyota Tercel Starter Problems

sounds to me that you have an igniton problem not a starter problem and or if you have or had an alarm system could be cause if u do give me feedback and i will explain but seems that your starter is fine from what u say but if you think in terms of the elemts to start a vehicle batery gives pwoer to ignition which sends to starter which gives spark etc i would check you ignition system something is causeing a short and not alowing starter to function

SOURCE: 80 series 1991 toyota landcruiser have no interior

I am chasing the exact same problem. I have put it down to no power feed past dome fuse no8 the light gauge wire, blue/yellow trace is under stress behind the heater box and can break internally. I think mine is broken between fuse 8 and inside the car, as there is no continuity between the two points on my vehicle, and there is on my brothers car, same car

Hi,
Did you verify if it has a main fuse for the ignition?...Link attached shows the fuses listed in the Owner's Manual and there's a IGNITION fuse that may be suspect...or some other 'main EGI/ECU' type fuse.

Your engine computer is bad. It's a good thing that you mentioned about the check engine light dying also, as this is a classic sign of a bad ecm. I have repaired more than one of these Jeep computers, replacing the three power capacitors located inside the computer, and they have worked for years afterwards. If you don't have the skills or knowledge to repair the ecm, get yourself a rebuilt ecm unit and swap it out.

I own a hj toyotaq landcruiser 1990.. I attempted to start the engine and I lost all lights and power once I turned the key.. I have checked the battery and the fuses.. Still nothing

The most common is dirty battery terminals.
There is also a master fusible link that is much larger than a normal fuse. Do not rely on visual fuse check. You need to use a test light, and trace first battery +, then cable, then starter, then fuse block, etc.
It is a linear search until you don't get power anymore.

I worked on an expedition that the moon roof got left opened for 4hrs in heavy rain and I had to replace several relays under the hood and some in the fuse box under the dash on the driverside my best advise to you there should be diagrams on the fuse cover box itself telling you which one is what but let the car dry out on its own 2-3 days and then go to work on finding out what fuses or relays you have to replace and if your owners manual does not give you exactly what they are stop by a dealer and in the parts department they can print you out a diagram
