I am looking for the EGR valve on my 1995 Jeep Wrangler 2.5L four-cylinder. I suspect someone before me removed the factory manifold and put in one that was not controlled by EGR. If I truly don't have one, how can I be getting NOX levels of 3.01 and 3.13 when the standard for Arizona is 3.00? Jim K.

I am looking for the EGR valve on my 1995 Jeep - locate-ford-egr-valve-200x200.jpg EGR Valve TurnDriverSide creativecommons.com jQuery(document).ready(function(){ jQuery('.intro .thumbnail a:first').attr('href','http://i.ehow.com/images/a05/29/ff/locate-ford-egr-valve-800X800.jpg'); }); The EGR, or exhaust gas recirculation valve, takes inert exhaust gasses drawn from the exhaust system and reintroduces them into the combustion chamber through the intake manifold. This process lowers the peak combustion temperature and helps combat the formation of Nitrous Oxide (NOx) in the exhaust.
jQuery('.intro .thumbnail').each(function(i,e){ jQuery(e).find('img').one('error',function(){ jQuery(e).remove(); }); }); Difficulty: Easy Instructions Things You'll Need:

  • Needle-nose pliers
  • Flat-blade screwdriver
  • Phillips Screwdriver
  1. Step 1 Separate the intake ducts from the air cleaner assembly by loosening the retaining clamps and pulling the ducts away from the housing.
  2. Step 2 Disconnect the vacuum line from the air cleaner assembly.
  3. Step 3 Remove the wing nut that secures the air cleaner housing lid to the base.
  4. Step 4 Remove both the air cleaner hosing lid and base.
  5. Step 5 Locate the EGR valve. Look at the front of intake manifold. The EGR valve will be bolted to the intake manifold just in front of the carburetor.
jQuery('.article ol .image').each(function(i,e){ var $this = jQuery(this); $this.find('img').error(function(){ jQuery(this).remove(); $this.remove(); }); });

Where is my egr valve?

On a 1995 2.2-liter 4-cylinder engine the valve will be found on the intake manifold with a vacuum hose coming out of it and into the manifold. The valve looks like a mushroom shaped metal component.

How do i bleed the master clutch cylinder system on a 1995 jeep ?

A special pump is used to back bleed the system. If you don't own one then you have to be patient and just keep pumping the clutch pedal until it comes back. It can take a half hour to get it back. Just depents on how much air is inside.
