Ok so I went to a buddies house and was there a total of about thirty minutes. I had obviously shut the vehicle off, when I went to leave i turned the key to the on position everything turned on without a hitch uppon trying to engadge the starter ther was a click but the starter wont engadge?

What make ,model an year vehicle ? Is the security light lit , flashing when trying to start the vehicle ? On GM vehicles you can do a thirty min. relearn like that . Key in ignition - turn it on an leave it on for 10 min. till security light goes off , turn key off for 5 seconds .then repeat two more times for a total of 30 min.
Turn the key on,and leave it turned on for ten minutes,then turn key off,and right back on,leave it ten minutes,and turn it off,and right back on,leave it ten minutes,then turn it off,and right back on,,,,This is a total of three times,,and a total of thirty minutes,then the ignition key will be relearned,to the vehicle.This will work for most 2000 gm products and up.
Ok make sure battery is charge or leave a charger hooked up on low charge to maintain battery wile doing this process ,
turn key to on position leave for 10 minutes ,then turn to off and repeat a total of three times this will reset theft mode to normal and relearn key . Don't crank engine during third process or you will have to start over . It takes about thirty to thirty-five minutes to complete .if this doesn't work you will have to get system checked

Open and shut the doors,and the trunk,and the hood,lock all doors,and set the anti-theft,leave it 5 minutes,then disarm it,and try and start,if this does not work,re-learn the key to the ignition,turn the key to on,leave it ten minutes,then turn it off,and right back on,do this three times,a total of thirty minutes,this should do it.

there is a cooling fan relay or module located under the passenger headlight .the light must come out.the module is flat about 3x3 " hold in by two 5.5mm. bolts .very common problem
