Side from the air conditioner controls, your resister stack maybe is bad... this is the part that controls how strong should work the a/c at each speed. that is a easy fix. The blower motor resistor is usually located on the passenger side, under the dash.

You need to remove the closeout panel, under the glove box. Look up in there and you will see the blower motor, and just over and off to the left you will see the blower motor resistor.

here is some steps in how to change it: http://www.ehow.com/how_4760922_change-blower-motor-resistor.html

Why does engine surge only when a/c is on?

It is supposed to do this. The PCM commands a slightly high RPM when the A/C compressor kicks on and off.

Hi, i just bought a second hand ford lynx M.T 2001 model, the problem is rough idling specially when air con is on, and its jerking when at slow speed.

get the OBD codes read as will point to the sensor/switch at fault, sounds fuel related as thea/c comment but OBD will tell you

Ac fan works but does not get cold

Hi there,
Check the air con drive belt is still OK.
Check to see if there is a slight change in the engine sound when the air con is switched on and off while idling - I'd get someone to do the switching while I listened under the hood.
If there's no change in sound (assuming whatever had to be switched on to enable air con to go, eg fan was operating) I'd check the fuse(s) for the air con.

If the fuse is ok, and you've already charged up the freon (not quite sure what you were saying there), I'd be taking it to an air con specialist.

My 2000 Toyota Echo will not let me put on air or air conditioner idles high at low speed and at park or stop?

It is normal for the idle to increase when the air con is switched on. There is a fuse in the engine compartment - I-UP (idle up)

When I start airconditioner in my Mitsubishi lancer 1999 model car, it slows the speed and affecting like a catching. What is the reason? How can I clear it?

I would get the engine checked. Not the air/con.The air/con takes about 2 horsepower so if your motor has a big drop in power when you turn it on.Check the motor tune.Hope this helps

My air con is not working.it has gas in the system, relay is ok,air con switch is ok but the air con compressor does not turn on when air con is on.when you direct the compressor or brigde the relay,the...

You may have freon in system but compressor won't engage unless it's full under pressure. By jumping the the relay you're doing damage to compressor by running on low pressure. Have system evacuated and recharged to proper amount of freon - usually 4 lbs of freon

Heater/air con

The heater resister switch has gone. You need to strip out the box and put a new switch in which costs around £20
