Had a remote start put in by a bad installer, the auto-delay stopped working. I checked and the rlay was missing so I installed same. Now the auto-delay works, radio/window when truck is suit-off, but all units stay-on when the door is open.

This is usually a problem with the door latch or the wire from the door latch to the VSM ( vehicle Security Module ).

Does the accessory delay shut off if you open the passenger door ?

If not, you might want to check the door latch wires to the BSM/VSM ( Body/Vehicle Security module ). For a SuperCab & SuperCrew this requires removing the rear seat back ( solution posted here on FixYa with the procedure ).

These are the wires to check for ground ( ground is switched to the BSM & then nothing in the other position ).

This sounds like an "anti theft security" problem to me. Symptoms: Start and stop within 5 seconds or less. Random starting problems, good one day bad the next. SECURITY light illuminated on dash somewhere. (might not be lit due to the bypass that HAD to be done to install remote start) Read up on this link and compare symptoms.

not sure what the shop did, but the procedure at http://vats.likeabigdog.com/ usually works.
Remote start will not work, as it has no inherent bypass. you can install a bypass they sell for remote starting systems, but there is a guy that designed a system that is sure to work--I think he guarantees it. Here is his website: http://newrockies.ca/ . I haven't tried his system, but what he says sounds right to me.

I have a 2008 Pontiac G6 and it came with a remote keyless entry and remote start and the remote start is no longer working. When I try to start it the lights flash and the dash lights come on but it does...

I think that the module for the remote start is bad, possibly the connection to the starter circuit is bad.

I would take the vehicle to an auto electric service shop in your area that installs remote starters to diagnose and repair the problem.

Where is the fuel pump rlay located on a GMC 95 safari van

Most car manufactures now put the gas pump in the gas tank. The gas cools the pump. But don't take the gas tank off, if you need a gas pump, one can be installed just like the old pumps, just disconnect the old pump and put a new one on.

Remote start does not work

henryj153, no offence guy, but if you dont know something, dont try and give advice. Now for the guy with the problem mattpointer:
These cars come with remote start as an option, and it is problably your BCM (Body Control Module), which is a $380 part, and the dealer has to install it, because of the programing... Here is a free way of checking if that is it. This part ties in certain vehicle systems, and for some reason when the BCM goes bad, so does the GPS, that is tied in with OnStar Check to see if your onstar can recieve GPS... press the blue OnStar button and ask them to locate you. If you dont have the service, they may want to start the service, just humor them as if you were interested, and ask them to locate you first, because you want to make sure the equiptment works. If they cant locate you, but you are able to use OnStar to contact them, most likely The BCM is bad, and thats what it is. This car has some great technology, but the intergration of this tech is in the BCM, and it goes bad.... so its a trip to the dealer for you my friend.

Factory remote start on 2004 Malibu Maxx stopped working

Fixed!!! I had several problems with my wife's remote start/lock/unlock/trunk/ panic. First it stopped working, i replaced the battery to find out that the battery holder inside the remote had broken solder at two points. Went to Harbor Freight bought a solder gun for $5 and solder wire for about $2. Once home i soldered the points back together (first time i've ever soldered anything). Put the new battery in and it didn't work. I pulled the whole thing apart and took the circuit board and touched the contacts where the button would have pushed at with a piece of metal. They locked and unlocked the car. So i knew at that point that the rubber thing was jacked. i got some tin foil and 5minute epoxy. Then i clued little tiny squares on the little black Nipples where they would contact the circuit board. Waited 6 minutes and put back together. Found out that if you start the car twice with out puting the key in the ignition you can't use the remote start. After putting the key in the ignition and starting it you reset the system and can remote start again. Dealer wanted 114 for the key remote and 54 to reprogram the remote to the car. I fixed my factory remote for under $20. Hope this helps someone

Sounds like you have some poor connections after the install.Double check all of the grounds. The tranny is electronically controlled.,so a bad or missed connection could cause this problem.Good Luck!!!!
