The rotor will just fit on loose. it may be stuck on with rust, a couple good smacks with the hammer will get it off. good luck!

Need to know how to get to the emergency brake on an 2002 ford explorer behind the disk brake.(rear driver side)

First remove caliper slider assembly & caliper. Will need to probably spray penetrating oil around rotor hub. Hit rotor on side of hub with sledge hammer & it will slide off. Inside are your emergency brake shoes.

How do I change front hub and bearing assembly on 2004 Explorer

Front hub bearing, remove tire, remove caliper and caliper holding bracket, you do not have to remove brake caliper from brake hose, just set it aside, if 4X4 remove front axle nut that goes through center of rotor, also remove brake rotor, disconnect elec, A.B.S connector, remove three bolts on back side of hub bearing, remove hub bearing, some times you will need to knock hub bearing out with a hammer.Reverse to install new hub bearing.

I can not get the brake rotors off. Calibers are removed. Tried a puller and no luck. Do I need to remove the nut on the spindle?

Im not an expert but Ive changed the rotors on my 96 Dodge ram 1500 4X4 a couple of times (Im real hard on brakes) and as soon as I take off the caliper the rotor slides right off. Ive had problems with the rear drums coming off but the rotors should slip right off.

Can someone send me a step-by-step diagram for replacing the front brakes on a 1993 Ford Explorer 4X4?

There are two main components the rotor and the calipers. After your car is on jack stands remove your wheel (* important note: make sure your brakes arent depressed before you start working on them. this will draw the brake pads up against the rotors and you wont be able to easily remove them). You should see the silver circular disc (rotor) and a contraption that is grabbing onto the rotor (caliper). now you must remove the caliper. there are two allen head bolts that hold each side of the caliper together, one on the top left and on on the top right. after removing those bolts the caliper should be able to be lifted off. inside the caliper you will see the brake shoes. inspect them for uneven wear, pitting, and cracks. if any of those exist or the pads are just worn down to the point of being worthless then change them. the shoes are simply held on my two metal clams which can just be lifted and slid off. Do the same procedure for the rotor. Inspect for damages and replace if needed ( there is a minimum width that the rotor needs to be in order to function properly so after you remove it you may want to do one of two things. 1- take it to a local auto parts store that can "turn" rotors ( a fancy word for grinding) or 2- just buy new ones. they are relativly cheap. Then to put back together you will just need to reverse the steps.

How to replace front wheel stud on a 2002 jeep grand cherokee 4x4 limited? Do you have to remove the caliper to pop broken stud out or is the rotor sufficient enough to get it out?

Yes - the caliper needs to come off..

Take the rotor off.. You proably just need to replace the rotor.. The lug bolts are not usually removable..
It a good dea to replace both rotors - to keep the breaks balanced..

Please dont forget to rate well ;o)
