Where is the thermostat located in a 2002 TD5 Serengeti?

MOST THERMOSTATS ARE LOCATED ON THE ENGINE, AT THE END OF EITHER THE TOP, OR BOTTOM RADIATOR HOSE!

I have a 2002 land rover discovery and the horn appears to be stuck but I don't know where. I had to take off the fuse to stop the horn blowing. What should I do?

Actually the horn buttons on the steering wheel break routinely, Un jam the button and replace it, You have to be brave though as the airbag has to be disconnected to remove the steering wheel

How to replace a rear seat belt for a land rover discovery

You have to probably remove the rear seat to get to the bolts and basically just remove bolts, replace seat belt and reinsert bolts and tighten.

I have bought a 99 land rover discovery and it is overheating

From practical experiences of heavy trucks, this problem is created by poor coolant flow thro' the Radiator Core. Flush cleaning the Rad. or decontaminating the exterior air flowways will not cure the problem. My recommendation is a Recore or after market replacement.

Where is the heater core located on a 2002 discovery series 2 land rover??

It sits behind the dash, and is a real pain to replace. It's a dash-out job I'm afraid, along with removing the radio, steering wheel, centre console and nacelle.

I can't get the timing cover off 2002 discovery.do you have to remove the oil pan? the passenger side is loose but tha driver side seems to have a bolt half way down coming from inside

Yes, RAVE mentions removing both the cylinder head gasket, and the sump gasket in order to change the chain. Also specifies removing the crankshaft pulley. Looks like a full on job!

Overheating boiling over, cant find therm stat location on discovery model

Find where the Upper Radiator hose connects to the block. That is usually where you find the Thermastat. 2 to 3 bolts hold the cover in place. You need new Therma stat, a new seal, and the tools to remove and install the part.

Antifreeze

Do this only if the engine is cold.Set the heater on.Remove the coolant expansion tank cap , place a suitable container under the radiator area , Look under the radiator (bottom rear side) for a plastic screw and loosen this by hand . Move swiftly not to get wet.Remove the bleeding screw on the top radiator hose.Flush the system with a coolant flush solution if the coolant is really dirty.Refit the drain plug , refill anti freeze (check with your parts supplier for the recommended ratio for your area(or your dealer)and top up with water.Run the engine and close the bleed screw once water comes out and replace the cap.Warm the vehicle up and remove the cap when it has cooled down again.Check coolant level and top up.Reset the heater off(if its summer there.)
