The fuel pump in my nissan nx wont engage but its getting power whats the problem

The fuel pump relay is a small unit covered in a plastic case, which has several sprockets on one side that are clipped onto the ignition system. The fuel pump relay is what turns on the fuel pump when you start your car and powers it down when you shut off the ignition.

The engine control module (ECM) uses the fuel pump relay to control when the fuel pump is on. The fuel pump relay supplies electricity to power up and power down the fuel pump.

It's located in different places on different cars. It could be under the hood, on the firewall, on one of the fender covers or near the steering column, to name a few locations. As for a Nissan Terra (Nissan Terra ?????), it is often found in the fuse box located in the engine bay.

When you turn the key in the ignition forward to crank the car, the "start cycle" begins and fuel pump relay is engaged long enough to turn on the fuel pump. It shuts off again when the engine is running. Once the engine is running, the fuel pump relay shuts off, and the current for the fuel pump is supplied by the oil pressure sending unit. The other time the fuel pump relay is engaged is when you shut off the ignition. It engages long enough to shut off your fuel pump.

Check to see if fuse is blown

Check all the grounds.

it most likely an in tank pump and it will be under the rear seat or under the carpet in the boot

The fuel pump is loacted inside your fuel tank. Accessing it may require you to remove the the lower seat of the rear assenger seat. You could see a circular metal on the tank with wires are connected. That is your fuel pump with float in it!

The fuse will be in your fuse box, located under the driver side dashboard.

Do u hear any click when u engage the ignition to start?

Maybe the transmission is shot? or the torque converter? If the shaft wont turn in the transmission then that would kill the motor no matter how much power you have.

CHECK FUEL PUMP FUSE AND RELAY.IF BOTH CHECK OUT OKAY.FUEL PUMP BAD.ALSO SCAN CAR TO BE SURE THE PCM NOT FAULTY.IF YOU GOT A MECHANICAL FUEL PUMP.IT MORE LIKELY BAD IF IT DONT PUMP ANY FUEL.IT COULD HAVE A RUPTURE DIAPHRAM.
