The heated seats are a luxury feature that heat the front seats. This provides maximum comfort for the driver and the front passenger. To turn on the heated seats, press the heated seat button, which is a picture of a seat. There are two of these buttons, and each are located on the center console. The button on the driver's side of the console controls the heat for the driver's seat, while the button on the passenger's side of the center console controls the heat for the passenger's seat. Pressing the heated seat button will turn the heated-seats onto their highest setting. Pressing the button a second time will lower the heated seats to their medium setting. Pressing the button a third time will result in the lowest setting. Pressing the button a fourth time will turn off the heated seats. There are three lights next to the heated seat buttons to indicate what setting the heated seats are on. Tip
The heated seats will only work when the engine is running.

The heated seat module (MSM) controls heated seat operation for both the driver and passenger seats. There are 2 modes of operation available for heated seats; both the seat cushion and seat back heat, or seat back only heat. When a heated seat temperature signal request is received, the MSM will activate both the seat cushion and seat back heating elements. When the heated seat BACK ONLY mode button is pressed once the MSM will deactivate the seat cushion heating element and leave the seat back heating element ON.
The adjustable pedal system is controlled by the memory seat module (MSM).
your best bet , have a qualified repair shop check it out ! Could have DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes in door module , BCM etc...
Replace the fuse with one the same rating. If the seat now works.... smile. If the new fuse blows or the heat does not work you may have a short (or a broken wire) inside the seat that's causing the problem. It's an 11 year old seat.... tearing it apart to find the source may not be worth it.
could be that a separate fuse runs the element to heat the seat, or relay. try unplugging the connector under the seat and replug in to see if that fixes it. check for power at the feed side of the loom plug before you replug it to the seat .
First off, I would contact your local Jeep dealer and have them run your VIN # to check for any recalls. The 1999-2004 Grand Cherokees had a recall on the seat heaters. If your vehicle doesn't fall into the VIN # range then either your seat heater switch has gone out, or you have a broken element in the seat heater. I have replaced more seat heaters than switchsm the elements heat up and break. Hope this helps out.
Try this remove the ckt breaker for the power seats the ckt breaker is located in the fuse box inside down by the drivers left foot. leave breaker out for about 10 seconds then reinstall it and see if the seat starts moving. If it does there is a reprogram for this and needs to be done by a dealer or someone who has access to be able to reprogram your vech.
several things could cause your heated seats to not work. If the seat and heated seat seat stopped at the same time could be the reprogram could fix it. If the heated seat quit working at a differant time it could be the seat heater element. get a schematic of the heated seat and ohm the wires for the element. If either element tests open then the element will need to be replaced. You might as well replace both of them at the same time since the seat covers have to come off to replace the seat heaters.(back and bottom ) If one element is bad then both heaters quit working.
you need to check the resistance in each of the heated seat elements in the seat. There's a two wire connector under the back of each front seat. The connector should be green. disconnect it and measure the resistance along the circuit going into the seat. if it isnt .1 - .3 ohms, replace the appropriate heated seat element
