Enine surges when put in reverse when cold

Re my 2002 ford explorer sport trac. First thing in the morning or after its been sitting awhile when put in reverse the engine surges. It jerks until it is put in drive. I tried engine cleaner once with little success at resolution. I have also tried gassing it repeatedly with no slow down in surges.

Make sure air duct from filter to throttle body is not torn allowing unmetered air into system causing bad idle .

SOURCE: surging while driving

DO NOT waste your money on tranny solutions!!! I have a 1998 Ford Windstar. About 2 years ago I started noticing a strange almost shaking, jerking serge type of activity when I would get into the "mid-range" (30-50) on the speedometer. I took it to a very trusted mechanic. After about $2000 and several different "tranny solutions", I thought the problem was fixed until about two week later when it suddenly jerked and sputtered AGAIN!! Don't waste your money on tranny issues. (by the way.. my van has also recently had a new tranny put into it and it STILL HAPPENS)

SOURCE: Windows will not operate on my 2003 Ford Explorer Sport Trac

window relay module probably went bad. theres a window relay under the dash you have power . try getting a wiring diagram mabey at an auto parts store or the library. so you can trace the problem down . short of taking the doors apart and checking the motors that drive the windows . Old fix with the old school cars bang on the doors from the inside with fist . it sometimes works the connections on the old school cars . Its stupid but it worked to get the window up .

Enginge shuts off when in reverse

Does it do it when putting the car in drive? It could be your lockup solenoid or possibly a bad torque converter. Please do not take my word for it, take it to a licensed ford mechanic (have it towed I should say)
