Raise the car and check underneath. You should find a drain plug at the bottom of the tranny, and the fill plug is either on one side or towards the back. I can't find the diagram for your car, but this should be easy to find.
Some cars have a rubber check/fill plug. This is where you check the fluid level, on a flat surface. You also fill it up here, to the top of the check window. You have to use a fluid pump to fill it up. You can use a small hand pump that pumps it out of the container, or get fancy with a bigger model that holds the fluid also.
Some cars have a window cap that is a bolt with a half inch square in the middle. Just use a half-inch socket wrench with out a socket on it, or half-inch breaker bar.
Hope this helps.

They are held in the transmission with a snap clip. Take a small flathead screw driver and wedge it in between the axle and tranny and turn axle clock wis and counter clockwise and it will come out. When you put the new one in, you will hear it ;; snap;; in place

Mercury topaz

You could have varnish on the throttle valve in the transmission, causing it to stick open.

Reverse lights dont work in 94 topaz. I replaced bulbs and fuse is good.

look at the top of your transmission near the shift cables and there should be a large bolt-looking fitting with two wires coming out of it and a plug on the end. Disconnect this plug, then place a wire across the iside terminals of the plug coming from the body, not the trans. Check the lights then and if the are on, you have a bad reverse light switch. Hope this helps :)

I cant find the transmission fluid dipstick in a 1990 mercury topaz

Right frontof the car, kinda buried in between the engine. You'll need a long funnel to replace any transmission fluids!
