Check for broken wires from drivers door to dash, the wires are in rubber boot where door hinges are, open drivers door and look at hinges in the middle you will see a rubber boot you may have to cut, but first pull it away from frame and door it pops out with a prybar orscrew driver slide boot back and look at wires, the wires always break in the middle, start there hopethis helps.
That is exactly what it is. It is a jeep thing. I notified Jeep and they want to claim it is not a manufacturer's defect because the warranty is up but what do you think. A car's wires are not suppose to last more than 5 years in a location that is constantly moving. Seems to me that they need to think about it again.

It’s a wire that is part of the wiring in the driver side door.
If you wish to fix yourself, (disconnect battery and follow all safety measures per your manufacturer’s recommendations) there is a black rubber gusset (accordion style tube) that contains the wiring harness to the door. On the door side of the tube you will find tabs on the top and bottom you can squeeze together to pull back and reveal the harness connector that is also located closest to the door.
Disconnect the harness and pull back though a hole located in the area directly under the interior fuse box. This might not be the easiest task, so when you pull back the rubber tube, check for any broken wires. You can lightly pull on each wire to see if one is loose if you are not able to visually locate the wire in question.
Repair the wire using the best method available to you and reverse the removal. Return the harness back though the door, plug in the harness, and snap the tube back into place. I found this after a good deal of troubleshooting and had to fix the same wire in a different section about 2 years later. This should be recalled as I have fixed 2 friends with the same problem.
Remember also to be safe and if you need to replace any wires, contact your dealer for details on the repair. This is doable, just take your time and plan to be in the area working for at least 30 minutes to an hour if you are good at repairs.
Good Luck...
SOURCE: interior lights stay on and power windows and power mirrors will not work at all
Have just disconnected battery on jeep grand cherokee 2004, 05 , the newer bonnet style. Had same diagnosis with a/c not working, electric mirrors not working and driver's window and door lock control not working. Pulled rubber sleeve off door by pulling bottom and top rubber tabs with pliers and rolled back to expose cables, see photo, then used a small connector to reconnect cable, had to take a bit of black sleeving off each cable end and twist cable as normal, then inserted into connector and did up screws tight. Covered in black insulation tape and refitted rubber sleeve to door. Reconnecting rubber sleeve was the most difficult part! Thanks for the ansers here they really helped! Saved me at least 50quid that my local garage would have charged.
