Well one of a few things. Faulty switch, bad motor, window regulator, blown fuse or faulty wiring. Check power at the window motor while activating the switch. If you're getting power to the motor then it's the motor, if not then you're down to the switch, fuse or wiring. A bad regulator will cause the motor to activate, but not be able to go up all the way, it'll typicall go up crooked.

window regulator on the passenger side. and a new swith for the drivers side. the contact points in the swithes can become corroded over time and no longer make a good connection
