It has a 22r with a 2 barrel carb. its ideling real rough and its using alot of gas

Have you tried using a spray carburetor cleaner? Also, is the fuel filter clean?

in my 03 1500hd had real rough idel clean the throttle body my truck idels perfectly now dosent take 30min and throttle body cleaners 8$ at autozone theres how to videos on youtube thats what i did

Fuel injected or carburetor? If it has a carb check the idle circuit! Also look down the top of carb with air filter off and make sure fuel is not dripping down the inside venturies. Take some carb cleaner an check for a lean mixture at idle and also use the carb cleaner to check for vacuum leaks around base of carb.

check the Idle Stop Solenoid

Sure choke isn't sticking? Mixture screws should be at base of carb.

There ar two thermo vacuum switches on the intake manifold,one in the center top by the EGR pipe right next to the valve cover,and one center bottom on the outside right below the carburator,it may be that one of them is not fully opening/closing when the motor is cold.I'm not sure on this as I've never had this problem with my 22R's,hopefully this will point you in the right direction,if you want comment back and I'll research this further(it's 5 in the morn and I cant access my 22r manual)

you can take apart the top section and blow out the small passage that's bellow the throttle plate.

Dripping fuel could indicate a badly adjusted float,bad needle and seat,or possibly to much fuel pressure off the pump,if your using a mechanical fuel pump make sure the return line to the gas tank isn't plugged,if your usining an electric fuel pump make sure you have a working pressure regulator,my personal opinion on remanufactred stock carbs isn't very high,if you can return the carb I would highly reccomend replacing it with a Weber 38 DGES,you can get a Toyota conversion kit for around the same cost as a remaned stock carb.

well to me that is not very good mileage . have you had the vehicle long ? also did it get better mileage when it was newer ? how about plugs wires etc what has been changed and tuned up ? I would think it would get better than that alot of bigger pickups get that good or better.hows your driving habits ? Jerry
