philkgoodman: I have the same exact problem with my 2006 ram 3500. I bought it used and its been like this since i bought it so im not sure if its normal. My guess is the cabin filter is getting clogged. I heard from someone that dodge doesnt have a cabin filter in their trucks. I'm not sure how true that is but trying to find out where it is if there is one. please email me if you find the problem. thanks [email protected]
What to you mean loosing acceleration pressure? Also what engine do you have?
3500 is often with the Cummins diesel so I'm going to assume that's what you've got. Diesels loose power like you are describing when the fuel fiter gets plugged. It's is often overlooked, and in many cases not changed frequently enough. As diesels become more and more popular, people that have never owned one before don't realize the extra maintenance they require. A good rule of thumb is to change the fuel filter every other oil change, or more frequently if you suspect dirt or water may have gotten into your tank.
The first thing to do is to start monitoring the coolant level.
This will rule out the possible of headgasket coolant passage pin hole leak.
Headgasket can go at 170,000 miles+
Less if your truck is doing a lot of hauling.

Have you try Amsoil diesel treatment?
It work well for me.

I will ran the tank below 1/4 and fill up on NON
bio-diesel blend.
Use Chevon diesel until you get the problem figure out.

Water can come in three way
air condensation in the morning
coolant
fuel.
Diesel engines fire on compression alone (usually 400psi).The Truck may have air trapped in the fuel system. When you perform any fuel system repair on a diesel it is going to take alot of cranking to get the air out. You can take the breather loose and shoot a VERY small amount of starter fluid in the intake and it should start. Do not use starting fluid much as it can damage the engine. Good Luck.
stop up fuel filter or fuel injection pump. pressure low.make sure air filter is not stopped up.diesel engine need to get air in order to run well .check the egr valve and pvc valve .make sure they are not stuck open.
In most cases it is the fuel filter. I don't know when it was changed before, but it should be changed at least every 8-10 k miles. Make sure you change the air filter too.
Yes and there was no awter in the seperater
Im sorry water in the seperater there was no water to empty in it.
do you think this could be a sencer
