We replaced the radio in our '98 Cadillac and no door chimes

We replaced the radio in our '98 Cadillac Eldorado, but the chimes no longer work. Also, the dashboard zeroes out, and sometimes (overnight) the remote access doesn't work.

Thanks for your response! We installed a Clarion (aftermarket) stereo, and it works fine. I was after the new radio was installed that these issues came up. I even re-installed the old radio, and the issues go away.

Did you replace it with a factory radio or an after market one?
If you did the after market one,it's not wired correctly.

Where is 98 eldorado cadillac 4.6 starter located?

It is located in the valley between the cylinders. You can loosen the throtle body, all the bolts holding the intake manifold and then lift the manifols just enough without disturbing the fuel rail to gain access from the lest side of the car to the right. This can be done with common tools and the gaskets on the manifold and TB can be reused if not damaged.

Didn't notice that before? If not, it may be a warning chime telling you that one or more bulbs aren't working. Turn them on & do a walk around & see.

98 Deville casette/radio stereo won't play after swapping to CD/Casette/radio

Since the replacement is a different one from the one you are replacing, the car wiring harness is probably different from the one needed for the new radio. This is a really important difference if the new one is part of a Bose system and that is not the option installed in your car. The best way to check is for you to identify the option codes for each radio and go to and compare the wiring diagrams.
