2002 nissan altima heater problem

have 2002 altima, blower works no heat at idle and very little heat when accelerating.I changed carbon cabin filter, made sure little gear under dash to temp knob wasnt broken, flushed and bled system.Nothing worked so checked hoses to heater core and found inlet hose was hot, outlet hose was not.So investigated this problem and came to conclusion heater core was clogged. An easy way to check is to get car to normal running temp. put on heater and blowers at full.Go under dash on passenger side where counsel meets firewall, this is where heater core core inlet and outlet aluminum tubbing go through firewall, you will be able to feel both tubes one closest to you is outlet, so if this one is not hot and and other is your heater core is clogged.I detached both inlet and outlet hoses to heater core from water control valve. Then I blasted water with waterhose and nozzle set at jet, first through outlet hose to blow gunk out, then through inlet hose until water runs clear.Reatach hoses fill and bled system.heater works great nice and hot!

Your nissan has no such knob.

if your not getting any heat first check that you have coolant in the radiator and its full.

second you may have a problem with the blend door not working right.

any mechanic or a/c shop can help you with this

I can not get the temp knob to transfer form cool

most likely you'll have to replace the plastic tab on the back of your controls its easy to do. You'll have to take out the radio and temp. Control unit you'll see where the cable hooks in its probably broke. For a temporary fix you can unhook the cable at the floor. Its on the drivers side by the gas pedal.

2002 Nissan Altima - Heat doesn't get hot and doors get stuck

Did the switch break because it was stuck? If so, then yes, they will have to change actuators and doors. Does the fan work on all speed setting? If so then you do not need a blower resistor. The resistor pack only controls the current flow to change speeds of the fan.

2002 NISSAN ALTIMA VENT CONTROL KNOB

You need to check and see if the control has vacuum, this is what controls where the air is sent, the switch is called the HVAC mode control selector.
