There are other things to be checked, such as the radiator fan and the water pump. You would need to find out if the fan is coming on at 220 degrees and if the pump is pulling coolant thru the radiator.
Thermostat may be to low of a temp causing the over flow bottle to empty to soon. In other words sucking water out of bottle to soon. check water level off and on engine running
ok. It's fairly straight forward -- Make sure engine is cool, locate the hose leading from radiator to the top of the engine, you should find a housing with two bolts one on each side. remove the hose, bolts and housing, clean all smooth surfaces with scraper then sand paper to remove all old gasket material, replace thermostat, seal with gasket sealer and torque bolts back on to specification (typically a good solid snug would do) Best regards Ck
Follow the top radiator hose to the back of the engine. Remove the two bolts at the end of the hose and the thermostat is inside. Note the engine is sideways in the car so the back of the motor is really on the drivers side of the car.
