The easiest way is to remove the inspection cover at the rear of the engine where the transmission bolts on and slide a screw driver or chisel in the teeth of the ring gear and let it come up on the block. You may need a helper to hold it unless you can find a way to keep it in place while you torque. Hope this helps.

You can take a 1/2" breaker bar with socket to fit crank bolt, 15/16 I think, and put socket and bar on bolt and wedge breaker bar against the tie rod. Then simply remove spark plug wires from the coils, so engine will not start. Turn engine over to break lose the bolt. You can purchase a electric impact wrench from Harbor Freight for $35 and use it to put the bolt back in.
