The best way to stop it leaking is to have a new windshield rubber seal fitted, its not a long job popping out the windshield and replacing the rubber, but dont try it yourself its likley to be glued in,,,you could try silicon sealer under the out side lip of the rubber it may work for you, but only a replacment rubber will be perminent

How to stop water from coming in the passenger floor board

That depends upon the cause of the water. There are a few possibilities, depending upon the vehicle. See this list and use what applies as a way to narrow down the source.

1. Rust hole in floorboard. Only way to fix is to repair hole.
2. Leaking door seal on passenger side. Locate and repair leaking seal.
3. Leaking sun/moon roof. Some vehicles that have these run their drain lines down the passenger side door pillar and down thru the floor pan. Sometimes the hose shrinks with age or breaks and allow water to get on to the floor. Remove the passenger side kick panel and inspect and repair as needed.
4. Leaking heater core. Feel and smell the water. If it smells like antifreeze or has an oily feel, it may be coolant leaking from the heater core. Of course there should be a loss of coolant associated with this problem. Here the only solution is to bypass or replace the heater core.
5. Leaking windshield seal. Most car windshields today are glued into place. These glue joints can break loose and allow water to leak. Also, rust can form around the windshield seal and cause rust holes that can leak. Lastly, extremely high-powered car stereo systems that pump mega-bass can cause overpressure inside the vehicle that can cause the seal of the glass to separate.

Lots of rain water leaking into front passenger foot rest.

Are you certain it is rain water? It could be condensation from the A/C coil that fails to drain out of the drain pan, or possibly coolant from a leaking heater core. If you are certain it is rain water, depending upon the age of the vehicle, and possibly some other things, here are the possible options:

  1. Leaking door gasket.
  2. Leaking windshield seal due to rust
  3. Leaking windshield seal due to improper installation
  4. Leaking windshield seal due to acoustic (sound) over pressure (if you have extreme sound system with heavy bass)
  5. If you have a sunroof, if the drain hose comes down the passenger side door column, it could be leaking into the passenger compartment rather than drain through the floor pan.

RAIN leaks onto passenger side floor... definitely NOT the heater core or windshield.

Year make and model? Some Gm's have a rubber seal that mounts to the body under the windshield cowling. It falls off letting water in threw the air vent/ filter. Silicone it back on.

2005 Scion xB rain water leaking into Passenger side floor board

Most likely cause is a leaky windshield seal. This can be caused normally by one of three things.
(1) Improperly installed windshield
(2) Rusting metal at seal location
(3) Overpressure blowout of the seal caused by excessively loud bass from audio system (happens more often than you may believe).

Re-sealing the windshield will solve the water problem once you determine the cause.

2004 Toyota Corolla flooded passenger side mats front and back

I would say you have either a bad seal on the windshield or the seal on the passenger door opening.

I have a an 03 outlander and every times it rains hard my dash fills up with water and leaks on passenger side floor. Shorted out two blower motors and I need to know how to fix this. Can not afford to...

It sounds like you have a bar window seal.

Have a local auto glass company remove the windshield and have it resealed properly.

My 2005 taurus has started getting a pool of water on the passenger side floorboard after a heavy rain, any ideas on how to fix, didn't see any leaks from windshield.

Look for moisture on the glass of the windshield, as well as the passenger side door, if thebottom seal isnt making contact on the door glass water will run in threw the door

Mazda Tribute. Water leak under driver's feet. Had similar leak on passenger's side and it was the air-conditioning. Could this be the same?

Generally, water on the passenger side is the A/C drain tube.
Driver side generally means widshield or sun roof seal leak.
Did you wash the Mazda or did it rain prior to puddling?
Before disassembling the windshield seal, test ... with a water hose (Remove floormat and place a towel on newspapers on the driver's side floor).
There is a "smoke" test" that can more accurately find the leak. See if you local AutoZone will rent one (maybe free) to you.

Rain water leak

Did you have the windshield replaced recently? This is typically caused by faulty installation of a windshield. Sometimes it can be fixed by adding windshield sealant (polyurethene, not silicone) where the windshield is adhered to the subframe - most likely along the bottom edge.
