the mechanic tried that and he finally had to tow the car to toyota cause they refused to tell them what was wrong. i wanna know what is wrong so i know much i will be paying out

The first mechanic ran every test he had and it kept saying that it was overheating. He replaced every part that has to do with that and still not working right. We have 2 toyota dealerships around and none of them are nice and give information. The mechanic towed the car to toyota cause it will not drive that far. Toyota has had my car since Monday and still haven't heard anything. Around here (good old west virginia) toyota takes their good old time and get to it when they get to it.

Ok, I offically had Toyota's now. Toyota has had my car for a week and I am getting it back and it is not fixed. Toyota cant find the problem but yet it will not run at all anymore. Toyota said they have never seen a car act like this before.

Try higher octane fuel full tank with fuel cleaner/octane booster and give the car a long run with a blast.

    Dear Mrs Blatt,

I think your request of the Toyota dealership was quite reasonable. I have had 2 Toyotas here in Western Australia and the local agent is more than helpful. Unlike your car mine were Camry & Aurion plain Janes really.

It may cost you for a diagnostic systems run approx $100 that will identify where problem is and then they can cost repair for you. For this they have to give you a written report which allows you to shop the repair around if you think you are being "rolled". Other thought is get a macho guy to take it in if you think they are playing games on your better nature.

Do you have another Toyota dealership nearby or even a GM would do above for you.

    I hope this helps,

    Steve

    Dear Mrs Blatt,

That is a very sad service they provide. I am sure Toyota would be horrified if you contacted their USA head office.

Maybe an email to Japan would make them take notice also and advise you."You will never buy another Toyota because - - - - - -"

In Australia, many older Toyotas are still on the road, in fact, my son's (dec) car was a 78 Corolla rusted like crazy but was a rocket on the road.

Be brave and make the call - good luck,

    Steve

    Hi Mrs Blatt,

Well I'm not going to give up on this one until the bitter end so I will check the list off with 2 Ace Mecho friends of mine and get back to you.

It does surprise me that Japan has not risen to the challenge as they are tenacious lil'Nips!

    Regards

    Steve

I have a 2000 toyota celica gt DOHC 1.3 engine (i think on engine size) that will not run longer than 3 seconds. It shuts off and will not turn back on but will crank over. Things that have been changed...

Most common I have seen is your ground wire. I know it sounds simple, but make sure there are no holes (see if you can have a person check while turning over to see for sparks) & make sure it is tight.

2000 toyota celica-gets fuel to the fuel rail but wont stay running, will run with gas sprayed in intake

Check the injectore and see if they need replaced. but if not, you probably just need to put some "restor" in in for the compression.

it might be your fuel injectors. The fuel injectors have been recalled. My 2000 gts was hesitating and i had the injectors cleaned and that fixed the problem. A month later i took it in for service and was advised that there was a recall on the fuel injectors.
