Yea it could be your alternator only if u start the car n the cable s are removed n it dies . What I think it is is the cable connection is around 150.00 all the work if it's older there is a chance is only that . I had the same problem cables got replaced n it was absolutely fine

Have your alternator tested it sounds like your battery is pushing out out the power to your engine which causes the battery to drain. if you can start the car again pull the negative battery cable if the car dies after you remove the cable then your alternator is shot.

2001 Hyundia Sonata changed 4 alternators in 6 months, figure it has to be something else. Car will start and run fine and then will die while driving. Will start up again sometimes on its own and...

Two ways the the battery was the problem:
1. It was not the right voltage battery installed.
2. It was a faulty battery...which is very possible.
As of right now, you Sonata runs, correct?

Battery light on 2001 audi a4 1.8t with new battery

I had a similar problem, it drove me mad, but i found it to be the fuse in the black box that connects to your + battery terminal, Just open up the box & check 4 a break in the metal strip. You can always disconnect the fuse & bolt lead on to end of fuse terminal (remove the fuse box) & drive your car to see if it happens again.

My 2001 Audi 1.8T Quattro lost power for like half a second barely noticeable but my epc light come on should I worry it drives fine and still starts.

Hi

it sounds like an iregular air fault, this can happen rarely but does occur. Is the light still on ? I would think if the light has gone out then the fault was a temporay one caused by the cars electrics for what ever reason. If the light has gone out and the car drives fine then I wouldnt worry for the time being, if it happens again then maybe have it checked out.

2001 Xterra - Replaced fuel pump twice and is still not running.

I am no expert, but I just had a similar problem. The car would shake and buck when accelerating. It finally just died and would not start. After sitting for some time, the car would start and run a while, then do the same thing. I thought fuel pump. The dealer diagnosed distributor. After replacing, the car is running perfect. Something to think about. Good luck.

Audi a4 1.8 avant 1997

my 97 a4 would start and then die, i had it diagnosed as the immobiliser in the dashboard costing about £600 !!! The battery went flat trying to start it so i took it off the car and charged it up, when i put it back on the car before i took it to get fixed i thought i would try it 1 more time and "hey presto" it started and ran and has not missed a beat since ! That was 2 years ago, it was like the computer had re-set itself with the battery removed for charging, i hope this may be of some help.
