I have a 2002 Hyundia Accent 1.6L & in NC I had 2 failed points: 1) Catalyst NOT READY 2) Evaporative System NOT READY. I disconnected the battery last Saturday to clean corrosion from the battery posts & have driven the car 250 miles since then. The car has 34248 miles, what could be wrong?

I have never heard of such a thing over my 35 yr span. Try a Hyundi dealer. I believe with that low of milage, if it was bought new as a left over, like May of '02 you may get Hyundi to pay for the converter and labor. (10 yr emissions warranty). You just need the original in service date. (date first bought by retail buyer). If you can, talk with Hyundi service dept and get their advice and terminology and post me back. Also ask @ the emissions warranty. It stays with the car, not the orig. owner(s).

Cant pass emissions,i need at least one of the not ready status to become ready status out of the oxygen senson, evaporative system, catalyst

drive it. I am betting you have recently "cleared" codes which also clears readiness monitors in an attempt to better control people cheating the system. After enough drive cycles are reached the monitors will pass if nothing is wrong and turn to ready. If the problem that the codes implicated where not fixed than the check engine light will again come back on and you will again fail your attempt to pass emissions.

Drive it for a week or so and see what happens.

Car sometimes wont start unless you spray starter fluid, just replaced filter. oem codes are p0734 and p1401

P0734 = 4th gear incorrect ratio (that's the torque converter 'lock-up' clutch - inside the converter).
P1401 = doesn't exist for 2002 Hyundai Accent's
P1401 exists for 2000 Accent = DM-TL Air Pump Motor Curent Draw is higher or lower than expected (normal is 17-36 mA). DM-TL = Diagnostic Module for Tank Leakage & is part of the Evaporative Emissions Control System.

These two DTC's are not associated/part of the Accent's Engine Managemenet System (EMS).
Best to have a qualified/certified Hyundai Service Technician properly diagnose this starting problem with your vehicle.

Mi hyundai accent GLS 2002 tiene el check encendido y tiene los errores p1401 y el p0442, que puede ser y como puedo solucionarlo, ademas la luz del dasch se apaga y se enciende constantemente que puede...

The 2000 model year Accent adopts a different "pressurized" leak check system capable of detecting a 0.020" (0.5 mm) diameter leak (previous Hyundai systems detect a 0.040" [1mm] diameter leak using engine vacuum). The new system uses a Diagnostic Module for Tank Leakage (DM-TL) to close and pressurize the fuel evaporative emissions system. The DM-TL replaces the fuel tank pressure sensor and the canister close valve from previous systems. Other significant changes were made to the system logic, including several new diagnostic trouble codes. It compares the differences between the 2000 model year Accent and previous evaporative emission systems... Que puede ser? Tiene dos opciones. Primero, puede pagar que un tecnico diaga el problema (exactamente) o sigue, secudariamente, su adivnaza.

Fuse box under hood of a 2002 hyundia accent no power

This is "Power Distribution 101". If there is no power to the Underhood Fuse and Relay Center, the ONLY things it could be is a dead battery or disconnected/corroded/loose battery cables.

Toyota camry has engine code P0430 cat ineffiency. .We just had car repaired for evaporative leak codes > They replaced one of the evap sensors. now they are telling me a cat is bad

Bank 2 is in the front of the engine compartment (closest to the radiator). Sensor 2 is downstream (after) the catalyst. Follow the exhaust system down and replace the one after the cat. If you have an graphing OBD2 scan tool- graph both the bank 1 sensor 2 and bank 2 sensor 2 and compare their wave form. If bank 2 sensor 2 is cycling up and down more so than bank 1- you likely DO have a failed or failing precatalyst.

2000 Hyundai Accent

00-30-001 2000 ACCENT DMTL DIAGNOSIS: DTC CODES P1401, P1402 AND P1403

p1402 - dm-tl air pump motor is shorted or disconnected.

2000 model year accent is equipped with a new enhanced evaporative emission system. this new system is capable of measuring leaks as small as 0.020" diameter. the new system pressurizesthe evaporative emission system with a diagnostic module for tank leakage (dm-tl), while the previous model's system appliedengine vacuum through the purge valve to detect system leaks.

service information
vehicles that have the check engine light illuminated and have dtc p1401, p1402 and p1403 stored in the ecm should have their electrical systems diagnosed related to the appropriate dtc. these codes are not related in any way to an evaporative emission system leak. the conditions that set the diagnostic codes areas follows:
p1401 - dm-tl air pump motor current draw is higher or lower than expected (normal = 17-36 ma).
p1402 - dm-tl air pump motor is shorted or disconnected.
p1403 - dm-tl changeover valve is shorted or disconnected
