My 02 Ford expedition started to shake when I turn it on what should I do

If your vehicle is a 4 wheel drive, than you are probably driving in 4low or 4 high on dry pavement. Put it back in a4wd (automatic 4 wheel drive) position and this shaking when turning should stop.

On a 1997 ford expedition, how do you change from 2wd to 4wd?

If you can't find the 4 X 4 switch, then your expedition is probably All Wheel Drive and it will not have an on or off. If it is "all wheel drive" it is like it is in four wheel drive all the time and will kick in when it feels a wheel slip. Check your owner's manual and you will probably find that it is all wheel drive. Hope this helps.

How do I use the 4 wheel drive on my Ford Ranger XLT 2.5 TDi 2004

4L only to be used in extreme condtions
N
4H for off road/snow/ice
2H - normal driving

when switching to 4H vehicle must be stationary, as when changing from 4H to 4L
but it is possible to change from 4H back to 2H while in motion.
when 4wd is engaged a lamp will illuminate on dials telling that the hubs are free wheeling, when changing back to 2H you must press corresponding switch to dis-engage this function

1998 ford expedition the dash lever if set too either a4wd or 4h the light clicks back and forth between the two but it never engages the four wheel drive. Other times it will work with no issues.

There is another recall for the cruise control. This time it is about transmission issues and wiring to brakes and electrical issues. This could be a free recall repair.

98 expedition xlt wont engage in 4h or 4l. the awfs light is on when switch in that position, none of the others do (eg. 4H or 4L) the vehicle has not been in 4wd in a few months. last time 2low engaged...

one the transfer case there is a motor on the back side of the transfer case. most of the time that goes bad. if you don't have a trouble shooting guide with a wiring diagram, best to have a mech have a look at it. most of the time they rust and stick if not used a few times a year. best of luck.

How to shift into 4wd

Ford has 2 types of 4x4 system engagement. One is a knob on the dash that you just turn to 4wheel drive high or low. The other system is the 4x4 transfer case shift on the transmission tunnel (hump) between the driver and passenger seats. To shift into 4 wheel drive high while driving, just let off the gas and shift transfer case into 4H position, and continue driving. To shift into 4 wheel drive Low, stop the vehicle completely, put transmission in neutral, shift transfer case into 4Low position, put trans. in gear, and start driving. I am assuming before doing the above, you have locked in ( turned the front hubs to 4 wheel drive position.) Any further questions, let me know.
