That's why shops charge what they do...If it was easy, everyone would do it. If you tap on the new relay and you get the same result as tapping on the old one, chances are there is a bad connection back there. May or may not be, but without looking, you won't ever know.

Sometimes you need to look past the obvious. If it happens again, remove the fuse panel and check the wires where they join with the connectors for the relay... these are crimped connections and can easily corrode under certain conditions.
Glad you have it working again!!

2003 Yukon XL 1500 slt rear doors and tailgate not locking and unlocking What could be the issue?

There are several potential causes for this issue in a 2003 Yukon XL 1500 slt. It is possible that there is a problem with the door lock actuators, the wiring, or the control module. It is also possible that there is a problem with the key fob or the door lock switch itself. In order to determine the exact cause of the problem, I would recommend taking the vehicle to a qualified mechanic or dealership for further diagnosis and repair. They will be able to diagnose the issue and determine the best course of action to fix it.

2001 volvo v70 tailgate lock/unlock relay location. Tailgate not locking checked fuses, no sound from tailgate, however do get click sound from fuse area.

Check the wiring to the rear hatch. The cables break and cause a variety fo problems like yours. You will have to take the plastic cover off and expose the cables.

2005 gmc yukon back passenger doors will not unlock with key remote and rear hatch wont unlock or open

Either the relay for the locks is bad or the fuse. When you push the power lock on the inside if the doors do not unlock then I would check the fuses, both inside and under the hood. If they do work then the relay/s may be bad. You are pushing your key button twice correct?

Rear doors and tailgate not unlocking

Remove the fuse panel on the driver side and find the door lock relays remove and replace the relays. Make sure they are seated in the fuse panel. That should fix the problem.
