Do I have the right speaker parts in my '98 Z3 subwoofer?

I have the same part numbers on my kick panel speakers as my subwoofer has and this seems like an error. They both say 65.13 - 8 399 656, but with such different characteristics, they should be different. Did one set or the other get replaced at some point? Which ones are correct? It has the HK upgraded stereo package.

Thanks!

What is a compatible replacement for the factory subwoofer?

Most common speakers will interchange as long as the diameter and depth as well as the wattage and oms are the same as the factory speakers. There is no need to buy overpriced equipment for a factory car system. It"s overkill.

Best Buy installed new stereo in my 1996 Z3 - Now my stereo stops playing when I put the drivers side window down. My car recently started blowing a fuse. Help...it's been almost 4 years since I had the...

:o( you're going to have to pull the radio out to see what they did. They probably added a wire to an inappropriate circuit to power the new radio or amp. I will paste your factory wiring colors below. If you now have an extra wire, that is the likely culprit. Trace it to see where they hooked it in. If it isn't going to the the fuse box and using an extra slot, make it so by connecting it to the cold side of the fuse and put an approprite size fuse in. To determine the fuse size to use, you can compare the wire gage to other cold side wires and use a fuse the same size as you see being used for similar gage wires. Let me know if you have more questions.

Rear speakers do not work with aftermarket stereo install

I had the same problem a while back after having a JVC MP£ player fitted at Halfords. The guy told me my sub-woofer behind the back seat wouldn't work with the new stereo which I said was ridiculous, then one of the other guys came to look and told him I needed a different cable to link everything together - then it worked brilliantly.
Sorry I dont know a part number but that is definately your problem.
I hope this helps - or better still that you already have it sorted !!

How to remove kick panels on an '87 325

they are held in place by small philips head screws......in addition the drivers side kick panel has a 3 bolt enclosure that holds the hood release latch to the kick panel and left footwell, this must be removed as well.....now the fun part....you must lift UP and OUT at the same time to release the lower lip of the kick panel which is tightly wedged.....finesse is required! by the way that a 5 1/4 speaker, but the footwell will also hold some 6 inch speakers as well....I have alpines in mine (89 cab)..put some Dynamat in while your down there!
