They are held in place by small philips head screws......in addition the drivers side kick panel has a 3 bolt enclosure that holds the hood release latch to the kick panel and left footwell, this must be removed as well.....now the fun part....you must lift UP and OUT at the same time to release the lower lip of the kick panel which is tightly wedged.....finesse is required! by the way that a 5 1/4 speaker, but the footwell will also hold some 6 inch speakers as well....I have alpines in mine (89 cab)..put some Dynamat in while your down there!

Where is the factory amp located on a 2008 chevy surburban

Two places I know on SUV's. Behind the passenger side kick panel, up higher by the glove box. Or at the front of the center console.

Only my left front and back speakers work and they keep cutting out. What can i do?

The speakers or the connections to the speakers are loose. Usually the speaker's paper cone is torn. Check to see where the speakers are mounted. Usually you can hear them or see the cloth grill covers. Most of the time they're in the bottom of the door panel or in the kick panels. The speakers can be checked out by removing the door panels, bottom half at least. If the car is more than 15 yrs old the speakers will have to be replaced. But if the car is newer, it could be in the radio itself. So don't be too quick to remove the door panels.
Hope this helps.

Im trying to wire my radio but i cant find a diagram what color is the hot wire and what colors are the speaker wires

Hi, use the white (orange stripe) accessory wire to power the radio. The red (black stripe) wire is the hot lead used to maintain clock and preset stations for the head unit. The complete factory harness color code is below. Please let me know if you have any questions and thanks for using FixYa.

How do you replace factory speakers on an 02 Liberty?

No too hard to do. The rear speakers, need to remove the trim panels
and the fronts need to remove the door panels. You can just remove any
door handles or holders having phillips screws, then just pull or ply the panels
off with maybe a large flat head screwdriver if necessary.

I NEED NEW SPEAKERS FOR MY FRONT DOORS IN MY HONDA CIVIC COUPE 1997 BUT DONT KNOW WHAT SIZE TO BUY?

Not sure if you had a sedan, hatch, or coupe but here is the info you requested. Front door speakers measure 6.5" with a top depth of 1.75" (you have no depth problems here but any larger than 1.75 and you might have to cut out the factory housing.)

If they are door or kick panel speakers, you have to remove that panel to extract the speakers. Then measure them with a ruler; better yet, make a pencil outline of them (outside rim) and also where the mounting holes are. Then, when you buy new speakers say at Best Buy or some such, you will get the proper size, mounting and DEPTH. Unless you want to build all new mounting enclosures, you have to be sure of all the size measurements so that your new speakers will fit.

Wiring them is easy. There should be instructions. Speaker wires do have a + and - side, and if you cross them, the speakers will work but won't sound as good. Also be sure you have the POWER to drive your new speakers. Buy speakers of the same "impedence", measured in ohms right on your speakers.

Also, in here you can find the 1997 Honda Civic Service Manual.

Easy job, good luck (remember rated this help).

Removing front and back speakers in 1991 Grand Am....

There is a lot involved in replacing these speakers. You should also know that the original factory speakers are 10 ohm speakers. This means that if you replace them with new speakers (most of which are 4 ohm) you run the risk of damaging the stereo, the speakers, or both. This can also cause a potential fire hazard in your car. If you want new speakers, you really should look at installing a new stereo as well.

To get to the back speakers, you will need to remove 2 bolts located under the front edge of the rear seat (bottom). After you remove the bottom, you will need to remove the rear seat (back). This involves removing the bolts that hold down the rear seat belts, which is a large sized torx bit (T-45, T-47, or T-50... Don't remember which). After removing these, lift straight up on the seat back to remove. Now remove the deck brake light housing, and the bracket that holds it. Now the deck cover can be removed. Be careful not to bend it too much getting it out from under the side trim on both sides.

For the front speakers, you must disassemble a good portion of the dash. Remove the screw holding the light switch and the wiper switch housings. This screw is underneath each housing. Once removed, there are dash mounting screws behind them. These screws (and many of the other dash screws) are a smaller torx-bit (T-10 or T-15, don't remember which). Sometimes they use a 7mm bolt. There is a cover panel just above the glove box. This panel is held on with 2 screws located in the glove box. After removing this panel, you will find 2 or 3 bolts holding on the dash. Last but not least, you will find 2 bolts inside each of the defroster vent grilles. These grilles just snap out for easier access to the bolts.

How do you replace the front door speakers in a 1999 Model Hyundai Excel?

You have to take the door panels off.
The front speakers are 6"
So remove the front door panels, unbolt the factory speakers, bolt the new one in the existing holes, reinstall the door panels.
The grills will look factory, but you will have better speakers. Nice way to keep the good stuff hidden from prying eyes.
