2006 Chevy Aveo, can't find at what mileage to change fluid in the transaxle. Found a 2007 that says 37, 500. Owners manual has no service schedule for it other than checking it twice a year.

Check for worn engine & transaxle mounts

Do some preventative maintenance, so the motor
runs correctly also

I hope the trans fluid has been replaced every 3 years
& your not about to have that fail

I would use 70-80 EP oil as there is a load on all the gears especially OD.

Well, your owners manual (or any owners manual for this year truck) will tell you in the back of the manual what should be or should have been serviced as you accumulate mileage.

Consult the manual. The obvious are the oil changes, the transmission fluid changes, the air filter changes, plugs are around 100,000 miles. There is an internal cabin filter. Again just check out the manual or get one.

I uually shift into 2nd at around 10 mph 3rd at 25 4th at 33ish and 5th at 40. I get 30 mpg on a 2006 Aveo which only has a 27 mpg rating for my car. The high way is a totally different story. I dont look for gas mileage for quickness. But If you want the recomened shift points look in your manual. I learned the early shifting tric from my 01 focus. It had a shifting light. I got 33 intown mpg with that one

the owners manual should have info on how to reset the light. check under maitinence.

check your owners manual it will tell u the capacity and type of fluid

Keith, Searched the net on this, a little confusion on this one and not a lot out there. The pan/ diff. cover has to be removed or at least loosened some to change the fluid. Check the attached link,instruction and guide, Good luck

In a manual car you do not change or flush the transmission fluid. the only fluid you change is the gear oil for the clutch. The manual transmissions do not have the ability to be flushed or changed as it does not have the same internals as an automatic transmission

you take it to a repair shop and they unhook your transmission cooler lines and pump old fluid out and install new fluid in.
