Trying to locate steering fluid refill cap. According to the manual, (facing the 3.6L engine) it's on the left side next to the Engine Coolant Recovery Tank. I look and do not find it. What is located there is the alternator. I have carefully matched up the diagram with what is under the hood and everything but the Power Steering Fluid reservoir matches up. Any ideas?

The power steering reseviour is located under the alternator on the passengers side. In the the owner's manual on page 364 it is item "F." Its up against the windshield so you have to follow the hoses under the alternator. There is a metal plate where the alternator is situated but it is there and the cap screws off. Best of luck and the reason I am informing you because the dealer wanted to charge me $800 dollars for a new pump when in fact it was low in fluid and was making a whinning noise. I hope this helps! P.s. I am tired of dishonest dealers and mechanics trying to steal from the consumer!! Sincerely, Truthfull..

$800 ! Not bad. Mine wants to charge me $400 more than that !!!! I would guess part of the reason is I can find no way to get my big hand in there to screww the cap off. Another Buick design blunder because the person designing the engine had no idea how it would be placed in the engine compartment. Dumb and dishonest.

Only $800 ? My dealer wanted $1200. I suspect part of the reason is it is nearly impossible to get to the cap to remove it. Another Buick engineering accomplishment. The person designing the engine has no idea on how it is going in the engine compartment. Even so, dumb place to put it. They are dumb and dishonest ! At least now is I knew where to see it. Thanks for that since the manual was not much help.

I have a 2006 Pontiac G6 GT 3.5L V6, and I can't find where to put power steering fluid in it. Can anyone share a diagram, please?

Not all power steering systems are hydraulic. I think some G6 models have electronic power steering so no fluid is needed. Referring to the owners manual it appears that only the 3.9L uses a hydraulic system. If there is a reservoir it will either be tucked behind the alternator or mounted on that end of the engine. The top mounted reservoir filler cap is on top of the engine to the left of the oil filler cap.

Where do i apply power steering fluid on a 2005 Pontiac Montana?

The dip stick will be on the left side of the engine as you stand in front of the car. The cap should have either a steering wheel emblem and waves for fluid or it will say power steering fluid. It will be located back towards the engine compartment, on the left of the engine. The dip stick is short, only 3-5 inches long.

2006 volvo s40 2.4I. Where is the ECT(engine

Instructions
    • 1 Open the engine hood by pulling the hood release latch located on the lower kick panel on the driver's side of the Volvo S40. Lift the hood up and prop it on the hood prop.
    • 2 Locate the steering shaft that extends from the firewall to lower suspension located inside the engine compartment, by the front right wheel. Halfway down the shaft, you will locate the power steering pump. The pump is a black container that bolts to the driver's side of the engine block. On the top, you will find a cap that says "Power Steering Fluid."
    • 3 Look to the left of the cap. Bolted to the power steering pump is the thermostat temperature sensor. The sensor has a black round cap and a black wire extending out of the top.

2010 equinox power steering fluid

The 2010 v6 has a power steering dip stick below the engine cover. Take off the oil cap, grab the plastic engine cover on each side and lift it off (it snaps off and on). Put the oil cap back on so you don\'t lose it. You will see the power steering dipstick at the top of the engine. This only applies to the v6. Mine was loud, and I added a bit of fluid and it was fine.

Where is the drain plug for the radiator

Should be a drain **** at the bottom of the radiator that unscrews out. It looks like a wing nut has been welded to a bolt on the end of it. Another way to do this is just pull off the bottom hose.

Where do I put power steering fluid

Hello! The power steering fluid reservoir is located behind the alternator on the left hand side of (as your facing) the engine. Here is a picture to help you locate it - the arrow is pointing at the cap to the reservoir.

Where do i fill the power steering fluid?

You need to be standing on the passenger side of the car, facing the engine. Look down along the left side, (your left), between the engine and the firewall. About halfway down at the front of the engine you should be able to see the cap for the power steering unit. You will need a flashlight to see it well. If you are still having trouble locating it just follow the accessory drive belt (fan belt). The power steering pump is powered off the belt. Keep in mind you will need to reach down to get at the lid for both checking and filling.
Good Luck!
