You need the proper bar and tools to move the tensioner back. The spring that is in the tensioner can not be moved by a ratchet.

You are going to need a repair manual for your Supra before you start. I have one in my shop right now for another problem and I took a look under the hood. I wouldn't try it without one. The manual will give you the step by step with pictures.
