You willl need to replace the cable for the rear latch. the cable end is broken. you will need to get in the cargo area. the pry off the rear carpet on the lower gate. if you pan on getting a new carpet trim on the lower gate then cut it off if not you will need to pull it away at the bottem of the tail gate. this will allow you to pull the carpet trim from under the top trim. you may need to use a thin 13mm wrench to remove the cable bracketsat the bottom of the gate where the plastic trim is around it. with the rear panel removed you grab the cable with somthing and pull the cable to open the gate. with in open replace the cable and maybe the accuator if it is not working.. but most of the time its the cable. hope this helps. send me a shout if you need more info

2004 Mitsubishi Endeavor rear seat won't recline?

If the rear seat of your 2004 Mitsubishi Endeavor is not reclining, there are a few potential causes to consider:
  1. Broken recline mechanism: The recline mechanism, which is located under the seat, may be broken or damaged, preventing the seat from reclining. You can try to manually operate the recline mechanism to see if it is working properly.
  2. Obstruction: There may be an obstruction, such as a foreign object or a piece of debris, preventing the seat from reclining. Check under the seat for any visible obstructions.
  3. Wiring issue: There may be a problem with the wiring or electrical system that is preventing the seat from reclining. Check the wiring under the seat for any visible damage or loose connections.
  4. Fuse issue: The fuse for the seat recline function may be blown, causing the seat to stop working. Check the fuse box in your vehicle to see if the seat recline fuse needs to be replaced.
If you are unable to identify the cause of the problem and the seat is still not reclining, it is recommended to bring your vehicle to a mechanic or a dealership for further diagnosis and repair.

2005 envoy drivers door wont open from inside or outside

Linda, The door latch linkage is probably damaged or fallen off inside the door. Pop into a good body shop and have them check the door lock/latch mechanism for you. The body shop rates tend to be more reasonable then dealership for this type of repair. Links below are just to give you an idea of what may be involved in repair.

How do I get my rear hatch door open, when you can't open it from the outside?

You can get it open in two ways: By using your key fob and remotely opening latch or by pulling inside panel on rear hatch and manually pulling lever to get latch to release. Most times when you cant get rear hatch to open normally is because cable from outside release handle to latch broke. Have cable and release mechanism inspected and replace worn or broken parts as needed.

Broken rear window latch

If self-installing and budget is a concern, I would suggest calling your local junkyard to see if you can purchase a replacement from them. If no luck, try pricing online vs your local auto retailer as parts are usually cheaper online.

Is small transmission plan leakage a serious problem? Also what is a resasonable charge for front brakes and rear brakes. I was quoted $745 for front brakes and rotors, and $691 or rear brake pads and

Midas is a rip off artist and have been investigated and fined many times in my state for fraud mostly to do with brakes. The dealer can do the job cheaper than that by $100's and use better parts. A small transmission fluid leak is not a real problem unless you hate driveway oil stains like I do.

The latch handle does not work on the rear cargo door. I can't open the door. It appears that the handle mechanism is broken.

I would pop off the rear hatch trim to look inside to see what is broken. Usually there are a bunch of push pins that hold the trim in place.

I have a 2005 Pontiac Sunfire. The trunk will not lock/latch. When I have the trunk lid open, i can get it to lock with my fingers but cannot get it to latch when it is shut, how do i fix it?

Mine also had this problem within the first few months of ownership. I took it to the dealership and they said it was a "known issue" with the latching mechanism. They used some type of tool to pull the latch forward and it worked like a charm. It was free of charge at a Pontiac Dealership. Hope this helps.

My back door won't open on my 2000 tahoe

you latch mechanism could be broken or came apart, common to any vehicle.. open the cover to the back and you will see the locking mechanism, once the rear cover open you can find the latch and open it form the inside. once you get the door open you can play with the door handle by pulling on it like you opening the door and you can observed what actually connect to what to operate the latch. if small rod attached from the door handle to the lock could pop off or broken. may have to replace the handle, depend if its broken or came apart. should be 30 buck for the new handle if needed..hope that help some..good luck
