What can i do to decrease fuel consumption on a Nissan 2.4 hardbody?

The best fuel consumption you can expect will approach that of a new vehicle of it's type - if you spend enough to undo the ravages of time and wear and when you have made it as good as it can be it will only deliver the full capability if an economy driving style is adopted.

After a few years of work the sensors and the injectors, the fuel pressure regulator and a few other things become "tired" so the power output falls and more fuel-guzzling throttle movements are needed to achieve a given performance.

Other things affect the economy of a vehicle - choice of tyres, wheel alignment, tyre pressures, sticking or binding brakes, the junk that has accumulated in the back, under the seats, in the glovebox...

The answer is, you make a vehicle more economic by restoring youth to it and then driving it considerately.

would you not mean decrease fuel consumption meaning to make it go further for the same amount of fuel
to increase fuel consumption
be heavy footed at lights , speed , overload, run on partially flat tires stop/ start , be heavy on the brakes

Air fuel mixture not right!

when restarting a diesel you have to prime it by filling the fuel filter with fuel b4 trying to start engine

YOU HAVE A FUEL FILTER AND A FUEL STRAINER AT FUEL PUMP . HERE'S THE FUEL FILTER AND HOW TO REPLACE.

This will probably be caused by either the needle valve and seat being worn or damaged,or the float in the carb fuel bowl stuck or damaged so as to prevent it from rising and shutting off the fuel.Some of the nissan carbs have a small glass window where the fuel level can be checked.It should be about 1/2 way up the glass if ok.Yours will probably be looking full.Hope this helps.Get back with your findings and I may be able to post precise instructions to remove carb and repair fault.

first thing to check is for fuel supply to the carb, it may be just a filter, worse off is you may have to rebuild the carb

lol good ? look at your tank staps compared too the bed bolts might be cheaper getting new bolts rather then fuel straps, the pumps from a 2 or 4 wheel might not make a difference *** lond as same engine.

Ignition switch???!
