You didn't mention what you're trying to put the 'new' alternator in, but a reputable salvage yard will cross reference what you need and provide a compatible unit. If it doesn't fit (or work), bring it back and get the correct one.

SOURCE: got a new battery. alternator

Hi There.
The rectifier ( this is the device that tells the alternator how much charge to put in the battery) may have had the same problem as your old unit you will probably have to get another one and have it tested first at an auto electicians and make sure that when you replace it in the car that the battery is NOT connected until the unit is fitted and then fit and connect the battery last
Good Luck

SOURCE: I changed my alternator and

Try a local repair shop with a data base & have them print
what you need, in the way of a wiring diagram,so you can
make your own & hopefuly use the connectors that may have
survived the fire

What would you suggest,on 2001jeep with the alternator, and fan motor problem.

Well if its the motor that wouldn't be the best idea you've made. Alternators are expensive brand new, but you could also go to a junk yard and extract the Alternator from a parts jeep. Motor fan does not really need to be replaced, depending on the damage or if it is creating a shaking.

Just got a new battery 2 months ago, now my battery light is on an the battery died.

Just had a similar issue with my 09 CVPI.
Charge the battery, start the car.
Car starts and is running, good.
Now disconnect the ground from the battery.
The car still runs. Battery or wire issues something is draining the battery.
Car dies. The alternator is shot.
Got to junk yard find one for your vehicle.
My "battery" light came on and I pulled both the battery and the alternator too them to be tested. Both tested good on their systems. Did the above test and changed the alternator. No issues as of yet and no "battery light. Problem solved.
Junk yard alternator $25.00, $5.00 core.
New alternator $355.xx plus tax and $15.00 core.
Core is money I will get back when I turn in the old alternator.

Is there a up grade to 03 chevy suburban spare tire hoist or universal that works

you could maybe find one of these at a junk yard (from the same model vehicle) I don't think they make any universal parts for this purpose. find out what is the Latest year model that looks the same as your 03, could be an 05 or 06 which would be the newest possible part (without buying a new one from dealer)

Put a new alternator in.still not charging battery

If your old alternator was shorted, it may have blown fuse #8 in the instrument panel fuse block. It is a 10 Amp fuse and is the ignition circuit feed for the alternator.

VW Convertible Replacement Flaps

unless you get them from the dealer, the only other place you may have some luck is the "junk-yard"

Most junk-yards have a search feature and will search other yards automatically

91 accord engine squeal

there's your problem......you have a cheap alternator. Buy atleast refurbished never used once especially from a junk yard. Sounds like the pulley is worn.
