SOURCE: when do i change the transmission fluid 2005 monte carlo?

Well, I'm not really sure what the manufacturer's recommended interval is... But to be honest with you, once every 100000 kms, or 5-6 years is plenty for a transmission fluid/filter change is enough (yes, there is a filter inside the pan of the transmission, assuming it's an automatic). But, if you notice problems earlier (transmission starting to slip, fluid discoloration, or any other transmission related driveability issues) the first thing to do would be to do a transmission oil/filter change as soon as you can. Beware of these places that offer a transmission flush, that's about as useful as putting winter air in your tires, and costs money for nothing.

SOURCE: need to replace alternator on 1998 chevrolet monte carlo

Nope, it has two bolts one towards the front and one at the back underneath. Be careful of the one in the back as the nut is tricky to get on. You don't need to remove the bracket.

SOURCE: 2001 Monte Carlo battery goes dead over night

9 times out of 10 it is the factory amplifier. I had this same problem and it was the amplifier. Disconnect the amp located in the trunk by the speakers and see if the drain continues. You will not have music, but having the amp replaced with an aftermarket one will solve this problem,

1998 Chevy Monte Carlo - Doesn't start. Replaced the alternator

start the car then remove the negative battery cable if the car still runs them your alternator is working properly and you need a battery. I have also gotten bad rebuilt alternators from on several occasions for this type of car and had to put on new AC delco ones but they are a little more expensive.

Dead battery, on second one

Someone will need to disconnect the battery and check every circuit on the car for the voltage drain.
It could be anything from a short in the alternator to a short in the wiring to a faulty relay.

Something is draining my car battery 2002 monte carlo

How old is your battery? You can check subsystems one at a time by removing fuses one at a time overnight, accessories, ignition, etc.. This may lead you in the direction of the problem. It is possible that the diodes in your alternator are bad. This would cause a slow drain where your car may start after a day, but not after a few days. One of the auto parts stores should be able to test this for you.

My 95 monte carlo stars and runs well fo 5 minutes then dies and wont start for over an hour. When it is in dead mode the headlights, buzzer, dash panel, starter are all dead.

sounds like you could have a loose negative battery wire. I am assuming that this has happened repeatedly. Otherwise, it could be a bad alternator, and it is draining your battery, then it recovers slightly, but after one or two times the battery will be dead, if this repeats too often you will have to replace the battery also.

01 monte carlo securty & battey light problm

I had the same problem. Also, "service traction system" warning light, "service engine soon", and "trac off" warnings. Audio system locks every time the voltmeter goes flat. I expected an expensive repair bill. On a hunch, I pulled both battery terminals, scrubbed all points of contact vigorously with a wire "toothbrush" and baking soda paste. (They didn't look like they needed it at all) Reconnected, tightened securely, started engine , and everything is back to normal. Zero cost, 10 minutes of your time.

How do I replace the alternator on a 97 chevy monte carlo

The 3.1 and 3.4 have the alternator mounted on top. Disconnect battery and remove drive belt, the alternator is mounted by three bolts, good luck.

Water pump

On the 3.4.... Drain coolant, remove drive belt guard, loosen pulley bolts, remove drive belt, remove pulley, remove water pump. Good idea to check the belt for cracks or wear when doing the pump replacement. Reverse the procedure to install.
