Timing belt broke - I am trying to replace it - can't find timing marks for TDC
some engine dont hav markings they have a little access hole on the fly wheel side so that you can lock the crankshaft in place at tdc using the correct tool or bolt or some thing similar...u cud try remove the spark plug on cylinder 1 and insert a long screw driver turn the crankshaft and watch the screw driver until it reaches highest point with valves on cylinder 1closed that will be close recheck for marks.. not sure on your engine but most modern engines are interference engines which means if your timing belt snaps when the engine is running your piston/s will come into contact with your valves which will result in bent valves at the very least..which will be catastrophic to the engine hope this jelps
