Ts800 runs for short periods of time then stops , but fires rite back up ?????

These are for the stock engines, If you have upgraded to the LS I would need to know which one.

sounds like a fuel pump reley to me

SOURCE: Bad misfire

run the fault codes as misfire can be from injectors , low fuel pressure and ignition problems
all temp gauges will show a rise on stopping an engine as there is still residual heat in the block and heads with no water circulation and cooling
the fire from the exhaust indicates an exhaust valve is not closing properly so a compression test would be in order to check for valve problems or hydraulic follower problems

1990 GMC TopKick Dump Truck Shutdown Issue

Electrical problem. Something gets hot and stops working. Could be fuel pump or something in the ignition system, so losing spark. After it stalls, spray starting fluid in the intake and try to start. If it fires up and runs a few seconds, you know it's a gas problem. If starting fluid doesn't do anything, check for spark, it's probably an ignition failure-possibly the coil or the ignition control module. The module can be tested at a parts store.

Truck back fires and misses after setting for a while.

service engine light must be present with that description!!!!! if so time to stop the GUE$$ work and invest in a OBD 2 scan tool retrieve fault codes and repair it rite first time around.I would also be interested to see how that ignition coil behaves when it warms up get that tested!!!!if you haven't a OBD tool or spark tester invest save large.John
