All the mounting bolts are inside the door. open rear hatch and remove the mouldings and trim to reveal the mounts then have at it. bring the bulb with you because its the best way to replace it.

How do you replace the license plate light bulbs on a 2002 Cadillac STS?

Hi there,

There are two bulb containers above the license plate light and you just need a small screw driver to press in under the left side of the plastic bulb housing to release the plastic clip. The plastic bulb holder will swing from the right hand side and will then fall out. All you need is a medium size flat head screw driver.

You have to unscrew the housings with a philips screw driver and take the housing out of the hole, by turning it sideways and pulling it out. Then turn out the bulb holder from the back of the housing and pull out the bulb.

Hope this helps...

2001 LeSabre - replace rear license light. The rear license plate lights do not light up the license at night. How do you get to them? What size bulb do you need?

kind of tricky, took me an hour to get it figured out, but you got to open the trunk and take out the 10 or so 10mm nuts sticking out of the backside of the lid, then the whole solid piece where the lights are on the back will slide off, then you can change the bulbs above the license plate and put it all back together, im cant remember off hand the bulb size, but your local auto parts store will have that info when you go to buy them
